PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE

Fivefortwo missed a recent run with a fever but has found his niche over the Valley 1,650m this term, securing a second win and first in this grade following a comfortable come-from-behind success last time out on a wet track. He should get a race run to suit. Old-timer Keefy has been racing well without winning in his past seven runs over this course, including a recent nail-biting second to Without Compare after leading for the first half the race over the Valley 1,650m. He's the main danger. Armor Golden Eagle took luck out of the equation with a front-running win following a downgrade and switch to the Valley 1,650m last start. He cannot be ignored despite a return to Class Three. Nine-year-old Telecom Fighters has yet to salute from 12 starts this term but was a front-running third behind Solid Win when last trying the Valley 1,650m in February and should give a good sight from gate four carrying 7lb less under claimer Britney Wong.

TROUBLE IN RUNNING

JUMBO LEGEND (G266) bumped shortly after the start. Rider stated that his mount made a respiratory noise during the event and did not respond to his riding when asked for an effort from the 500M. After the race was examined by the vet who found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported - Race 514.

KEEFY (G306) bumped on jumping - Race 552.

THE BOOM BOX (K076) bumped at the start. Near the 450M became unbalanced when bumped - Race 564.

RIDING TOGETHER (K081) crowded shortly after the start, was bumped on the hindquarters and became unbalanced. Rider stated that his mount was disadvantaged by being pressured in the lead which resulted in it being left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. After the race was examined by the vet who found that horse to have sustained a minor abrasion to its right hind leg. Noted to have lost its right hind plate after the race. Performance of the last start winner was considered disappointing. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 525.

FIVEFORTWO (K381) was withdrawn on the day before raceday by order of the Stewards on vet advice (fever) . Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 552.

I CAN (H381) from the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages - Race 533.

TELECOM FIGHTERS (D482) raced very keenly in the early stages and near the 1500M was restrained and shifted out to avoid heels. Rider explained that after his mount was slowly away he was unable to take up a position in the lead for which his mount normally races at its best and he felt this was the reason for the disappointing performance. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 573.

ARMOR GOLDEN EAGLE (K566) bumped shortly after the start. Rider stated that his instructions were to go forward and obtain cover. He said in the early stages he expected a runner to continue forward and cross his mount but when that rider maintained his position to the outside of his mount he was obliged to continue forward to ensure that he crossed another runner. He said that resulted in his mount racing in a more forward position than intended. Trainer stated that whilst he had asked for the horse to be ridden in a more forward position he had expected that runner to lead the event and his mount to be positioned behind that runner. He said he was surprised to see the horse lead the event - Race 527.

RAGGA BOMB (K162) bumped on jumping. Rider stated that he was obliged to make some use of his mount in the early stages to go forward. He said in the Home Straight his mount finished the race off in a one-paced manner and over the concluding stages was eased when racing in restricted room, which prevented him from riding his mount out to the end of the race. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 546.

ALL ROUND WINNER (K382) in the early stages raced keenly when being steadied to allow a runner to cross. Near the 150M was bumped. Rider reported that on jumping his saddle slipped back, placing him at some disadvantage during the race - Race 588.
