PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
Storming Dragon has continued to do his best work late for fourth, fifth or sixth in five of six starts over the Valley 1,200m after an opening win off 66. He is well rated from a proper gate and should get a race run to suit. Lucky Planet needs to carry 9lb more but just made all last start over Beauty Glory for a second win and first in Class Three plus two placings from his past four C&D runs. He will try to make all from gate eight. Beauty Glory must offset gate 10 but did just fail by a short head to reel in rival Lucky Planet after an ideal run last start and will reoppose him 4lb better off the weights. He should go close. Wings Of War hasn't won in over a year but is always a chance over this Valley trip and does have a better gate after running on for sixth from gate 11 last month.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
MATTERS MOST (K154) near the 300M bumped with a runner. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 420.
PEGAS (L075) post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 420.
SPICY GOLD (H440) near the 150M shifted out under pressure and bumped a runner - Race 433.
WINGS OF WAR (H162) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages - Race 432.
STORMING DRAGON (J237) jumped only fairly and shortly after the start was crowded - Race 474.
AMAZING KID (K434) raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 432.
INVINCIBLE STARR (L078) jumped awkwardly. Making the turn approaching the 800M lay out when reluctant to hold its position to the inside of a runner. Rider reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages - Race 451.
TRACKWORK HIGHLIGHT
Spicy Gold has been finishing his recent gallops off in fast splits and is one to take seriously.
