TROUBLE IN RUNNING

MEGA MASTERMIND (L044) bumped near the 200M when giving ground. When questioned rider stated that his instructions were to go forward and lead. He said in accordance with his instructions he rode his mount in the early stages where he was able to hold the lead. He said making the turn near the 1400M his mount was pressured but as his mount held a margin over a runner he was reluctant to restrain his mount to allow that horse to cross. He said for some distance after the 1200M he maintained his position in the lead as he was waiting for that runner and also another runner to desist from holding their position to his outside and he felt it would be detrimental to his mount's chances to allow those runners to cross. Having considered his explanation the Stewards found the tactics adopted by rider were reasonable in the circumstances. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 688.

GLORIOUS SUCCESS (K062) bumped on jumping. Rider stated that his mount did not appreciate the All Weather surface which, whilst rated as "Good", was showing some effects of the recent wet weather. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 668.

LUCKY YEAR (K443) jumped only fairly and then was badly crowded - Race 680.

BLING BLING GENIUS (J397) rider stated that the instructions were to hold an on-pace position but not lead. He said when his mount commenced well he elected to continue forward from a wide barrier and lead the event to avoid covering additional ground - Race 680.

ACE (K307) rider stated that his mount did not travel well throughout the event and whilst it finished the race off in a satisfactory manner it was not comfortable on the "Yielding" track conditions - Race 702.

PEARL OF PANG'S (J447) rider stated that he was instructed to settle his mount where comfortable. He said the horse jumped well but in the early stages did not show early pace and when he was concerned there was something amiss with it he eased it down from the event in the Home Straight. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings. Finished tailed out and performance was considered unacceptable. Has since performed to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 446.

RELIABLE DAD (L006) jumped only fairly - Race 531.

VICTOR SUPREME (K547) jumped only fairly, shifted in and made contact with a runner - Race 680.

AMAZING DUCK (H392) bumped at the start - Race 680.

PING HAI COMET (H344) post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 488.

CHARMING LEGEND (K127) on jumping was crowded. Near the 1100M improved to the inside of a runner and was steadied. Near the 400M was hampered when taken wider - Race 724.

SPICY BONUS (L086) was slow to begin. Over the final 50M was held up and as a result could not be ridden out to the finish - Race 394.
