PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
Flying Fortress returned to the Valley 1,650m for neck seconds from midfield once each behind Super Unicorn and Silvery Breeze before misfiring for a third time last month over 1,400m. He must have claims over this track and trip despite top weight. Max Que must counter a sharp rise in weight but continued his fine form this season with a third win and first over the Valley 1,650m following a rails run from around midfield last start. He remains one of the chances. Fivefortwo must offset gate 12 but is an improved runner this season, including a win second up over this C&D and subsequent rallying sixth ridden back from gate seven at this level. He can spice up the exotics. A Americ Te Specso came from midfield for a deserving C&D win in December before backing up a rallying fifth from gate 12 with a flat 10th off a seven-day break. He's had nearly a month to catch his breath and a big run won't surprise.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
FLYING FORTRESS (J445) jumped awkwardly. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 363.
TELECOM FIGHTERS (D482) near the 400M was bumped and taken wider - Race 373.
A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) jumped only fairly. Near the 1300M was checked. Rider reported that his mount raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and in the Home Straight found it difficult to make up ground due to the early and middle stages of the event being run outside of standard time. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 349.
MISTER DAPPER (H376) rider stated that whilst his mount was able to hold an on-pace position, due to the early and middle stages of the race being run inside of standard time, it travelled only fairly during the middle stages. He added under pressure in the Home Straight his mount did not respond to his riding which he attributed to the quick early and middle sectionals of the race. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 342.
PERFECT TEAM (H120) jumped only fairly - Race 372.
KEMPES (J265) jumped awkwardly - Race 282.
FIVEFORTWO (K381) post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 364.
FANTASTIC FUN (J364) approaching the 500M was hampered when taken wider. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 333.
STURDY RUBY (H207) near the 700M was steadied. Held up for clear running on the Home Turn. Near the 400M made contact with a runner - Race 373.
