PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
Another World produced a huge run in January to make it two on the trot following a gear change and step up to 1,400m before following a second behind subsequent Derby placegetter Packing Angel with a pleasing third over 1,600m. He must have claims. Sky Trust produced two wins and four seconds from his first seven runs before following a Classic Cup defeat with a solid C&D third behind the smart pair of Hong Lok Golf and Sky Jewellery. He merits respect despite a new rider and wide draw. Magnificent Nine relished a return to Class Four for a rallying length success over this C&D before dashing nicely for a neck second to Armour War Eagle at this level. That one was unlucky not to have won again last Sunday. Charming Legend has a tricky gate but has been freshened up following a mile defeat in January and returns to the 1,400m trip of a win sitting near the speed on debut.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
SKY TRUST (J161) jumped awkwardly, made contact with the right side of its barrier, became unbalanced and lost ground. In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 650M was steadied - Race 514.
CHARMING LEGEND (K127) post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 346.
SUPERB KID (H298) over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when positioned close to a runner - Race 772.
MAGNIFICENT NINE (H433) over the final 100M lay in under pressure - Race 493.
YUEN LONG ELITE (J272) in the early stages raced keenly and for some distance after the 1000M was steadied - Race 455.
ANOTHER WORLD (K005) approaching the 400M made heavy contact with a runner lost its rightful running. Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race - Race 437.
AUTOMATED (K177) shortly after the start was crowded for room - Race 464.
ACROSS DA UNIVERSE (J328) jumped only fairly. Prior to declaring weighed-in, rider viewed the Stewards' patrol films to ascertain if there were grounds for a protest/objection against the eventual winner and the 2nd placegetter being declared the winner and second placegetter when the horse was crowded between both runners near the 100M. When rider declined to lodge a protest/objection and the Stewards were satisfied that there were not sufficient grounds, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge. Near the 100M endeavoured to obtain a narrow run between the two runners, shifted out slightly and initiated a slight contact with the 2nd placegetter. A short distance later was crowded and was not able to be ridden out to the finish of the event - Race 101.
SUGAR BALL (H394) blundered shortly after the start. Between the 400M and the 350M was held up for clear running- Race 493.
