Recap by phillip woo

Early favourite Flying Armani was given a conservative ride third last early but timed things perfectly to just pip Perfecto Moments on the wire for a maiden win at his ninth start. He appreciated both a downgrade and gear change. Perfecto Moments just failed to salute after leading 250m out following a one-off trip from midfield at his initial start over 1,600m. Backed to jump favourite Soaring Bronco kept on well for third after being held up early straight following a rails run from midfield. He's hold is form very well to place in three consecutive runs since a win. General Smart ran on nicely through the centre for fourth after a rails run travelling behind midfield. It was a return to form.

Horse No 1 FLYING AMANI (K152) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 YOUNG HORIZON (G272) K Teetan Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 3 YOUNG LEGACY (K465) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.

Near the 350 Metres hung in and proved reluctant to shift to the outside of HAPPY ALLIANCE to obtain clear running.

Horse No 4 FRANTANCK (H429) H Y Yuen Apprentice H Y Yuen could offer no excuse for the horse's performance.

Trainer P C Ng stated that, in his opinion, the horse was disadvantaged by having to work in the early stages to obtain the lead.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be "roarer" which had previously been reported.

The performance of FRANTANCK was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.

Before being allowed to race again, FRANTANCK will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 5 IRON LEGION (J459) Y L Chung In the early stages raced keenly.

For some distance near the 1100 Metres was steadied away from POWER SUMMIT.

Approaching the 1000 Metres IRON LEGION, which continued to race keenly, was then steadied when crowded by POWER SUMMIT which was taken in by PANDA LEGEND (A Atzeni) when that runner shifted in whilst not clear.

A Atzeni was reprimanded.

Y L Chung stated that after jumping only fairly and then being steadied when crowded between HAPPY ALLIANCE and GENERAL SMART which shifted out slightly, his mount settled further back than instructed.

Horse No 6 SOARING BRONCO (J162) J Orman Between the 450 Metres and the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when improving into a narrow run between JOLLY JUMPER and PERFECTO MOMENTS.

Horse No 10 POWER SUMMIT (K044) C L Chau Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied to avoid PANDA LEGEND.

Horse No 12 ORIENTAL SURPRISE (K028) P N Wong Apprentice P N Wong stated that with the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time she was obliged to make use of her mount to hold a position outside the lead.

She said as a consequence ORIENTAL SURPRISE was unable to finish the race off in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being allowed to race again, ORIENTAL SURPRISE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
