Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (699) - THE HONG KONG LIONS CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 SAVVY BRILLIANT (J437) Z Purton On jumping was crowded between CHICKEN DINNER and THUNDER KIT.
Near the 200 Metres endeavoured to obtain a narrow run between LIFELINE EXPRESS and PEGAS.
When PEGAS gave ground quickly and LIFELINE EXPRESS then shifted in slightly when obtaining a run to the inside of MEGASTAR HEART, SAVVY BRILLIANT then made contact with the hindquarters of LIFELINE EXPRESS which resulted in LIFELINE EXPRESS shifting in and SAVVY BRILLIANT having to be severely checked when disappointed for clear running between PEGAS and LIFELINE EXPRESS.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 2 CELESTIAL HERO (K363) H Bowman Shifted out shortly after the start and made contact with KING EQUINE.
Horse No 3 LIFELINE EXPRESS (H439) A Atzeni Near the 200 Metres was bumped on the hindquarters by SAVVY BRILLIANT, resulting in LIFELINE EXPRESS becoming unbalanced.
Horse No 4 MEGASTAR HEART (L056) J Moreira A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 BIENVENUE (J490) H Bentley A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.
As this was the second occasion that BIENVENUE had bled, the horse is ineligible to run in any race conducted by the Club in the future.
Horse No 6 KING EQUINE (L379) E Brown Bumped shortly after the start when taken out by CELESTIAL HERO.
Horse No 7 PEGAS (L075) H Y Yuen Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that she had to make some use of the horse in the early stages to lead and as a result PEGAS was not able to finish the race off in the Home Straight.
Horse No 9 GLORIOUS DYNASTY (L315) L Hewitson Shortly after the start was steadied when crowded between IRON SECURITY and KING EQUINE which was taken out by CELESTIAL HERO.
Horse No 10 THUNDER KIT (L121) C Y Ho On jumping was crowded between SAVVY BRILLIANT and IRON SECURITY which shifted out.

Horse No 11 CHICKEN DINNER (L095) M L Yeung Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 IRON SECURITY (L174) M F Poon On jumping shifted out and made contact with THUNDER KIT.
After being crossed by MEGASTAR HEART near the 800 Metres commenced to race keenly and hung out when positioned close to MEGASTAR HEART.

Thunder Kit was patiently ridden in second last and quickened nicely to get up 25m out for a first win at his sixth local start. Chicken Dinner ran on nicely near the outside to finish a close second after biding his time third last from gate nine. It was a return to form. Celestial Hero knocked up late after hitting the lead 200m out following a rails run from better than midfield. He rarely produces a bad run over the Sha Tin 1,200m. Master Champion stayed on a distant fourth after a box-seat run. It was a better effort on his past two starts following a stable change and return to Sha Tin. Lifeline Express ran on steadily for fifth after a rails run from behind midfield. Newcomer Glorious Dynasty made a mild bid without threatening after a one-off trip from behind midfield. Pegas was stopping 100m out after clearing to lead near the 900m out from gate 10.
