Recap by phillip woo

Punted late Motor travelled prominently on the fence before hitting the front near the 100m and keeping on gamely for a third win from nine starts this term and second from three consecutive Valley 1,200m runs. He appreciated carrying 20lb less in a higher grade. Son Pak Fu ran on nicely near the inside for second after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was a return to top form following a downgrade over his favourite Valley 1,200m. Firming favourite Aurio rushed home late through the centre for third after a patient ride third last from gate four. It was another good effort carrying a big weight. Telecom Fighters found a few too good after claiming the lead 200m out from Matters Most following a speed-tracking run from gate 11. He's given a decent sight for fourths in both Valley 1,200m runs this term. Prestige Always stayed on for fifth after a wide trip without cover travelling better than midfield from gate 12. He's one to keep safe shortly down in Class Four. Amazing Kid kept on one paced after travelling fifth and one off the fence from gate 10. Matters Most faded over the final 150m after leading.

Horse No 4 SOVEREIGN FUND (J402) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 5 HARMONY N BLESSED (E061) H Bentley Raced keenly in the early and middle stages and near the 700 Metres shifted out when being steadied to avoid TELECOM FIGHTERS.

E C W Wong (MATTERS MOST) pleaded guilty to a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1000 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when not clear of HARMONY N BLESSED, resulting in HARMONY N BLESSED having to be steadied to avoid MATTERS MOST.

E C W Wong was suspended from riding in races for a period to commence on Saturday, 13 June 2026 and to expire on Monday, 22 June 2026 on which day he may resume race riding (Hong Kong racedays).

In addition, Jockey Wong was fined $20,000.

In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 1 and also considered his very poor race riding record.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 SOMELOVEFROMABOVE (J503) J Moreira Jumped only fairly.

Near the 200 Metres was held up for clear running behind HARMONY N BLESSED for a short distance when that runner gave ground.

Horse No 11 MOTOR (K165) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 12 PRESTIGE ALWAYS (J300) M F Poon M F Poon stated that the instructions were to go forward.

He said as a result he rode his mount in the early stages to comply with those instructions but when unable to cross runners to his inside his mount was obliged to race very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions and stated he issued those instructions as PRESTIGE ALWAYS had run well at its most recent start when ridden forward and he also felt it was advantageous to hold an on-pace position.
