Race Four : (509) - HATTON HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 ROMANTIC LAOS (G476) C L Chau C L Chau stated that he was issued no specific instructions.
He said when his mount jumped well and the early stages of the race were run outside of standard time he elected to take up a forward position.
Horse No 2 WIN EASE (K384) H Bowman Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 CELTIC TIMES (G230) K C Leung Shifted out shortly after the start and was bumped.
Horse No 4 ABSOLUTE AWAKENED (K039) Z Purton Shortly after the start was badly crowded for room between CELTIC TIMES and WIN METHOD, both of which shifted ground.
Near the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly, shifted out and made contact with DILBAGH when being steadied to avoid CELTIC TIMES.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

A Atzeni reported that his mount responded only fairly to his riding in the Home Straight.

Win Method rushed forward to track the slow pace of Run Run Timing 1,000m out from gate five and took control 100m out for a second win from his past five starts. He handled a step up to a mile with aplomb. Run Run Timing was given every chance in front from gate one but found one better on the day. It was a solid effort up in grade following a win. Romantic Laos stayed on well near the outside for third after going forward three wide from gate nine to eventually find a spot in the box seat 1,200m out. He's always a chance in this grade. Vivacious Win ran on well for fourth after a wide trip with cover travelling behind midfield from gate 12. It was a good effort in a race run to suit those up front after back-to-back seconds. Celtic Times just held his ground for fifth without threatening the top four after a handy run one off the fence. It was an improved effort on his past two starts from a better draw. Dashing Maurison made good ground late near the outside for sixth after making his run third last from gate 11. It was a pleasing effort at his first Valley 1,650m run after improved performances in two prior starts over 1,600m.
