Race Six : (439) - TVB THE QUEEN OF NEWS HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 ARIEL (G223) E C W Wong Bumped on jumping.
Raced wide and without cover until near the 900 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 SIGHT DREAMER (J542) A Atzeni A Atzeni stated that his mount led the event as expected.
He said when he asked for an effort in the Home Straight the horse failed to respond to his riding and was disappointing.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, SIGHT DREAMER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 HAPPY UNIVERSE (J533) R Kingscote Jumped only fairly, shifted in and made contact with ARIEL.
Lay in in the Home Straight and proved difficult to ride out.

Horse No 5 FASHION LEGEND (J080) L Ferraris Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 6 RISING ELITE (K544) K C Leung Slow to begin.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 CALIFORNIA STAR (J123) Z Purton Slow to begin.
Making the Home Turn raced ungenerously when being shifted out to secure clear running.

Horse No 8 SWAGGER BRO (K089) B Avdulla Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 LESLIE (E471) M F Poon Slow to begin.
Horse No 11 NIGHT PUROSANGUE (J510) L Hewitson Near the 300 Metres lay in and away from SWAGGER BRO and was steadied to avoid CALIFORNIA STAR.
Near the 100 Metres was again steadied to avoid BULL ATTITUDE (A Badel) which shifted to the outside of CALIFORNIA STAR to improve.
A Badel was advised to exercise more care.
Horse No 12 FIREFOOT (J183) C Y Ho Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
C Y Ho reported that the intention was to hold a more forward position but after shifting out on jumping and making contact with SUPERB GUY his mount did not show sufficient pace to go forward.
Horse No 13 SUPERB GUY (K323) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly and then was hampered when bumped by FIREFOOT which shifted out.
M Chadwick reported that from a wide barrier he was instructed to obtain cover on the horse.
Trainer K W Lui confirmed the instructions issued.

California Star travelled midfield on the rails despite his usual slow start before hitting the lead 200m out and proving too good for a second win from 15 starts. Happy Universe finished well with one wider out to just edge the late-plunged Firefoot for second after a patient ride second last from gate 12. It was a lovely effort at his first start on the surface. Firefoot ran on nicely to just miss second with two wider out after making his run five back and three wide for most the trip. He was able to back up a third at his initial run on dirt last start over 1,800m. Hammered late in betting, Bull Attitude ran on nicely through the centre for fourth after making his run five back on the fence. It was a good run at his first start on dirt. Foremost Teddy stayed on for fifth sitting one off in third. He went OK but is better suited in Class Five. Never Peter Out came up one paced after a prominent run on the fence. Leslie ran on without threatening from the rear.
