Recap by phillip woo

Somelovefromabove led from gate one and never looked back for a cosy win. He appreciated a step back to the track and trip of a win from earlier this term. Good Luck Happy ran on nicely through the centre to grab second after biding his time third last from gate eight. He can break through at any moment with placings in two of three Valley 1,200m runs. Great Spirit just got the better of Rewarding Buddy for third after a prominent run on the fence. He's as honest as the day is long. Rewarding Buddy ran on nicely to just miss a placing after a wide trip with cover from midfield. He continues to knock on the door looking for a first win. Gameplayer Elite was closing with each stride for fifth with two wider out following a one-off trip from behind midfield. He"s gone much better in his past two starts following a return to his former stable. Legendary Impact kept on all right after sitting wide without cover near the front from gate five. You can forget the run of favourite Rainbow Seven who was held up for the entire straight run after settling fourth back and on the fence following a sluggish start.

Racing Incident Report

Race One : (405) - WANG TAK HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 GOOD LUCK HAPPY (K301) Z Purton Approaching the 1100 Metres got its head up when being steadied.

GOOD LUCK HAPPY continued to get its head up for some distance thereafter when being steadied to avoid REWARDING BUDDY (K C Leung) which shifted in when not quite clear.

K C Leung was reprimanded.

Between the 300 Metres and the 100 Metres had some difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of REWARDING BUDDY.

Z Purton explained that with pace drawn to his inside his instructions were to ride the horse in a more conservative manner in the early stages, particularly as it did not finish the race off strongly when ridden in a forward position at its most recent race start.

Trainer A S Cruz confirmed the instructions and the reasons he issued those instructions.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 PACKING KING (K570) C L Chau Between the 150 Metres and the 50 Metres raced tight to the inside of LEGENDARY IMPACT when that horse shifted in slightly and as a result could not be ridden out through that section of the race.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 SMART FIGHTER (H278) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

In the middle stages raced keenly.

Horse No 6 ZEPHYR (K414) L Hewitson From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 SOMELOVEFROMABOVE (J503) J Orman Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 8 RAINBOW SEVEN (K145) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

Over the final 400 Metres was held up for clear running and could not be tested to the finish of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 9 GAMEPLAYER ELITE (H356) H Bentley From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 10 LEGENDARY IMPACT (K035) A Badel Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 11 CALL TO COMMAND (J243) M Guyon Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea and also found it to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.

Horse No 12 COUNTRY DANCER (H436) M Chadwick From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Held up making the Home Turn.
