Race Six : (194) - SO KON PO HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 2 WINNING CHAMPION (K429) J McDonald After travelling a short distance was steadied when crowded between YOUNG STRIKER which was taken out by EXCEED THE WISH and HEALTHY HEALTHY which shifted in slightly.
Near the 700 Metres made contact with FORTUNE WARRIOR when both runners contested a position behind HEALTHY HEALTHY.
Lay in in the Home Straight.
Horse No 3 GOLDEN BRILLIANT (K347) D Probert Jumped only fairly.
Near the 600 Metres made contact with the running rail.
Horse No 4 FORTUNE WARRIOR (H229) C L Chau Near the 700 Metres made contact with WINNING CHAMPION when both runners contested a position behind HEALTHY HEALTHY.
Passing the 300 Metres raced tight between LAKESHORE HERO and WINNING CHAMPION which lay in.
Horse No 5 WINNING MONEY (J116) K De Melo Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 KING VICTOR (K042) C Y Ho Bumped at the start.
Horse No 7 EXCEED THE WISH (J480) L Hewitson Jumped awkwardly.
From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Bumped near the 300 Metres on the hindquarters and became unbalanced.
L Hewitson stated that his mount travelled well during the race but did not quicken when asked for an effort in the Home Straight.
He added that, in his view, the horse may be better suited by having the hood removed for its next race start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 LAKESHORE HERO (J288) A Atzeni Shifted in at the start and was bumped.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 VON BAER (K198) K Teetan Raced keenly throughout the early and middle stages and for some distance after the 700 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from FORTUNE WARRIOR.
Near the 300 Metres was shifted to the outside of FORTUNE WARRIOR to obtain clear running and as a result made contact with EXCEED THE WISH.
Horse No 10 NEBRASKAN (J304) R Kingscote R Kingscote stated that after holding an on-pace position, when SAVVY TWINKLE improved to his outside leaving the 500 Metres, his mount came under pressure before finishing the race off only fairly in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, NEBRASKAN will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 SAVVY TWINKLE (K067) A Badel Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 12 YOUNG STRIKER (K029) H T Mo Approaching the 1000 Metres was steadied when crowded between EXCEED THE WISH which shifted out and away from VON BAER and WINNING CHAMPION which shifted in slightly.

Lakeshore Hero dashed nicely near the inside to overhaul Winning Money 30m out after a rails run from behind midfield for a first win at his 11th start. He had been trialling well off a 141-day break. Winning Money found one just too good after pushing forward three wide to lead 950m out from gate 12. He relished a return to the Valley 1,200m of placings in two Valley runs last term. Punted late, Savvy Twinkle stayed on nicely for third after sitting third in the run and one off from a tricky gate. He's heading in the right direction after resuming a ground-covering sixth last month over the Valley 1,000m. Healthy Healthy plugged on one paced for fourth after slotting effectively one-out, one-back from gate 11. He's a winner waiting to happen on the back of two good runs in this grade. Von Baer made good ground late for fifth after making his run two from the rear. It was another honest effort. Winning Champion ran on steadily to finish next best after a wide trip without cover from behind midfield. Favourite Nebraskan didn't find much when asked for an effort after getting headed for the lead 950m out.
