Recap by phillip woo

After a patient ride second last, Super Joy N Fun ran on strongly with two wider out to take control 50m out for a fourth win from 19 starts. He is one from one on this surface. Kempes dashed nicely despite getting held up for a run between the 300m and 150m to snatch second after settling last from gate 11. It was another solid effort following a last-stride win on turf earlier this month. Early favourite Fun N Fun Together just lost second late after dictating the run from gate two. It was a nice run up in grade carrying 18lb less following a win. Must Go ran on well to just miss a placing after a rails run from midfield. It was a return to form after showing little in his first four runs across both surfaces this term. The downgraded Wonder Kit had his chance but wasn't good enough after a speed-tracking run from gate four. Giant Leap just held his ground after making his run fifth along the fence. He's more effective at the Valley. Good Luck Babe failed to turn it up another gear after a prominent run. He wasn't up to the challenge in a higher grade on dirt after a last-start win over 1,400m.

He said his mount was unsettled in the starting gates and for this reason jumped only fairly.

He said when GOOD LUCK BABE and MUST GO, which were drawn next to him, jumped better than his mount he elected to ride FATAL BLOW in a conservative manner in the early stages to avoid covering additional ground.

He added in the Home Straight his mount finished the race off only fairly and, in his opinion, would be better suited by returning to the turf and being stepped up in distance for its next race start.
