Recap by phillip woo

Golden Fairy cleared the field to lead from gate three and drew clear in the straight run to improve his record over 2,000m to two wins and a third. Storm Runner ran on well for second after a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. He was able to back up a second when trying the Valley 2,200m at his first Class Five run 18 days ago. Super Hong Kong closed off nicely with two wider out after settling second last from gate 14. It was another honest performance. Chateau Le Peche ran on late for fourth after biding his time third last from gate seven. It was a better effort with a step back to the 2,000m distance of a win two runs ago. Hakka Radiance just plodded after a handy run one off the fence. The big weight took its toll despite a downgrade.

Racing Incident Report

Race Two : (768) - SPESSARTINE GARNET HANDICAP - Class 5 - 2000Meters

Horse No 1 HAKKA RADIANCE (J105) A Atzeni Bumped at the start.

Leaving the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid ESCAPE ROUTE and shifted to that runner's outside.

As a result HAKKA RADIANCE raced wide and without cover thereafter.

Horse No 2 ESCAPE ROUTE (E273) H Bowman After the event H Bowman stated that the instructions were to take up a forward position but had not expected to race as close as he did.

He said due to the work the horse was required to do in the early stages to cross runners to its inside his mount was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight.

Trainer J Size confirmed the instructions issued.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 STORM RUNNER (J452) Z Purton Near the 1700 Metres was steadied to avoid LEATHER MASTER (A Badel) which shifted in when not clear.

A Badel was advised to exercise more care.

He said COLOURFUL BARON was able to obtain a midfield position where it travelled well.

He added COLOURFUL BARON had difficulty obtaining clear running over the final 200 Metres and as a result could not be fully ridden out to the finish of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
