Race Nine : (465) - KING KWONG HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
Horse No 2 RED ELEGANCE (H241) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 ETERNAL FORTUNE (K010) R Moore Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 HEALTHY HEALTHY (H203) B Avdulla Near the 350 Metres was bumped when racing tight to the inside of HONG KONG HALL and became unbalanced.
Horse No 5 YOUTHFUL SPIRITS (J082) L Ferraris Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 MAJESTIC EXPRESS (J244) A Badel Shortly after the start was bumped on the hindquarters.
After the event, A Badel stated that with the early stages of the event being run inside of standard time he was unable to cross runners to his inside and as a result MAJESTIC EXPRESS raced wide and without cover.
He added in the Home Straight due to the wide run MAJESTIC EXPRESS was unable to finish the race off strongly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 HEROIC MASTER (G394) A Atzeni Making the turn after the 600 Metres lay out and was awkwardly placed close to HONG KONG HALL.
Near the 350 Metres made contact with HEALTHY HEALTHY when that runner raced tight to the inside of HONG KONG HALL.
After the event, A Atzeni stated that he was obliged to make use of his mount in the early stages to hold his position, particularly with the race being run inside of standard time.
He added in the Home Straight HEROIC MASTER finished the race off only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained a small wound to its right front leg.
Horse No 8 AWESOME TREASURE (E435) L Hewitson Trainer D A Hayes confirmed that from a wide barrier he had instructed L Hewitson to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages.
He said he issued such instructions as AWESOME TREASURE had been racing disappointingly when ridden in a forward position at its most recent starts.
Noted to have blood in the mouth after the race.
Horse No 9 HONG KONG HALL (G315) H T Mo On jumping H T Mo became unbalanced in the saddle for a short distance.
Horse No 10 KING ECCELLENTE (G264) K Teetan Slow to begin and shortly after the start was crowded by MAJESTIC EXPRESS which raced tight to the inside of HARMONY N BLESSED.
Lay out on the Home Turn and in the Home Straight.
Horse No 11 MULTIDUTCH (K171) B Thompson From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Red Elegance reeled in the tearaway leader Youthful Spirits in the deep stretch for a fifth win from 20 starts and three over the Valley 1,000m from six starts this term. Youthful Spirits found one just too good after turning the final bend five lengths on top dictating the pace from gate 10. He continues to race well without winning in his past five starts over the Valley 1,000m. Harmony N Blessed stayed on a distant third after chasing the leader on the fence. It was a better effort on recent runs following a downgrade. Favourite Eternal Fortune ran on late for fourth after biding his time fourth last from gate five. It was another honest effort over the Valley 1,000m. Sergeant Pepper kept on fifth best after a prominent run on the fence. It was clearly his best performance from eight starts in Class Three this season. Heroic Master produced only a grinding effort when asked for more following a rails run from midfield. It was a below-par effort over his favourite Valley 1,000m. Punted late Healthy Healthy only plodded following a one-off trip from midfield. King Eccellente beat a few from towards the rear after a tardy start.
