Race Nine : (781) - SHEK SHEUNG RIVER HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 KAHOLO ANGEL (H216) H Bowman Bumped near the 200 Metres.
Horse No 2 HAPPY FAT CAT (G166) E C W Wong Bumped at the start.
After the race, Apprentice E C W Wong reported that he could offer no explanation for his mount's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) B Avdulla Bumped at the start.
Horse No 6 EXCELLENT PEERS (G033) L Hewitson Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 7 CALIFORNIA DEEPLY (G451) Z Purton Shortly after the start shifted in and bumped EXCELLENT PEERS.
Raced wide and without cover until near the 550 Metres.
Horse No 8 ELEGANT LIFE (J366) M L Yeung Leaving the 600 Metres was steadied when KYRUS DRAGON shifted in slightly.
After the race, M L Yeung reported that his mount, which was having its first race start in Hong Kong and at Happy Valley, raced greenly throughout the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 KA YING CHEER (H369) A Badel Had its left front plate refitted in the holding stables, was examined by the Veterinary Officer and passed suitable to race.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 KYRUS DRAGON (H396) K Teetan Approaching the 200 Metres was shifted to the outside of KA YING CHEER to obtain clear running and made contact with KAHOLO ANGEL.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 O'LINER (H264) C Y Ho Withdrawn on raceday morning by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (colic).
Before being allowed to race again, O'LINER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Kyrus Dragon responded nicely to overhaul favourite Ka Ying Cheer in the closing stages after settling on the rail in midfield. He was ble to build on placings in his past three starts for an overdue first win at his 10th local start. Ka Ying Cheer found one too good after driving to the lead 800m out from gate one. He's threatening to return to the winner's circle with placings in six of his past eight starts after a debut win. King Eccellente was eating up the ground late to finish a close third after making his run wide towards the rear from gate 12. It was his best effort from three starts in Class Three. Punted late, Kaholo Angel whacked on one-paced after a box-seat run from gate three. The big weight took its toll. California Deeply was getting going late for fifth after settling one off the rail behind midfield. It was another honest effort, but he has had trouble winning this season. A Americ Te Specso ran on without threatening from towards the rear. Happy Fat Cat faded after stalking the pace. He could be on his mark after ringing up a fourth win last time out.
