Days before Britain’s King Charles is set to be officially crowned on May 6, 2023, his elder sister Princess Anne has addressed reports suggesting the new monarch plans to slim down the number of working royals. In an interview released by Canadian broadcaster CBC on May 1, 2023, Anne said she did not think reducing the size of the monarchy was a “good idea” despite a recent decline in public support for the monarchy in the country. Anne said the royal family has “genuine benefit” for the nation.
