Russia agrees to daily truce in battered Syrian enclave

Russia has called for a daily "humanitarian pause" in the eastern suburb of Ghouta in the Syrian capital Damascus, bowing to international pressure to halt the carnage in the rebel-held enclave. More than 550 civilians have died, almost a quarter of them children, following week-long strikes by the Syrian regime.
