Displaced Syrian family makes living out of spent missiles and mortar shells

In a scrapyard in northwestern Syria, the remnants of deadly weapons of war are a source of livelihood for Abdelkarim, his uncle Hassan Jneid and the rest of their displaced family. Fifteen children and adults collect missile casings, mortar shells, machine gun bullets and cluster bombs for their scrap metal business they run near Ma'arrat Misrin, a town in northwest Syria’s Idlib province where the family fled to after being forced from their homes.
