Indonesian domestic worker finds justice 10 years after horrific abuse in Hong Kong

At the end of a decade-long battle for justice, Indonesian Kartika Puspitasari was awarded HK$868,607 (US$110,647) in compensation on February 10, 2023, for the physical abuse she suffered at the hands of her former Hong Kong employer. It was the biggest settlement to date for abuse of a foreign domestic worker in the city. Her case has sparked calls for better protection of migrant workers in the financial hub.
