Chinese Premier Li and Australian leader Albanese hold ‘candid’ talks

Chinese Premier Li Qiang met Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese on June 17, 2024, in Canberra. Li is the most senior Beijing official to visit the country in seven years. During what Albanese and Li called a “candid” meeting, Li said China and Australia would offer reciprocal visa-free travel, while Albanese stressed the importance of promoting regional balance.
