Japan, Australia to share intelligence on ‘China’s intentions’ under new security pact

The prime ministers of Australia and Japan signed a security pact on October 22, 2022, agreeing to share more sensitive intelligence and to deepen military cooperation. The “Joint Declaration on Security Cooperation” agreement was described as a revamp of a pact signed in 2007.
