Australia has reached an agreement with China to resolve their dispute over barley imports, with Canberra suspending its case at the World Trade Organization (WTO) over 80.5 per cent tariffs Beijing imposed on imports to China of Australian barley. The tariffs nearly wiped out imports of the grain by the world’s largest beer market. Australian officials agreed to suspend the WTO case as China began a review of its tariffs.
