PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE
Loving Vibes was threatening to breakthrough with placings four times over the Valley 1,200m from his final six starts last term for his new trainer before returning with a pleasing fourth to Bright Day after attacking the pace from gate 10. He's drawn to enjoy a lovely run and can go one better. Lucky McQueen capped a solid campaign with a second Valley 1,200m success before returning with a strong second behind favourite Young Arrow from better than midfield. Gate 10 ensures he'll go off a decent price. Winning Money might be vulnerable late if he rushes forward as expected from gate 12 but is an honest sprinter over this course and should strip fitter for a front-running third in that Young Arrow race. Glorious Dynasty made a nice impression late for sixth to Bright Day ridden back from gate 11 on his season debut down in Class Four over today's Valley 1,200m.
TROUBLE IN RUNNING
LUCKY MCQUEEN (K064) near the 550M was steadied - Race 033.
VIGOR HAPPINESS (L284) post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 038.
WORLD HERO (J413) raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event - Race 023.
HAYDAY (H321) rider stated that after being crossed by a runner in the early stages her mount did not travel well thereafter before giving ground in the Home Straight.
After the race was examined by the vet who found that horse to have an airway abnormality (dorsal displacement of the soft palate) - Race 851.
NEW POWER (H325) rider reported that near the first turn his saddle slipped backwards which placed him at some disadvantage during the event - Race 770.
I AM BACK (L061) near the 1100M was steadied - Race 859.
LIGHTNESS OF BEING (K159) bumped near the 100M. Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event - Race 032.
LOVING VIBES (J359) when questioned rider stated that his instructions, with its light weight, were to go forward and attempt to lead if possible. He said having regard to his instructions he rode his mount along in the early stages in an endeavour to cross runners to his inside. He said when a runner held its position to his inside he then commenced to attempt to steady his mount to race outside of that runner. He said when his mount raced keenly and did not respond to his efforts to set a more sustainable pace this resulted in the early stages being run inside of standard time. He added that near the 500M when his mount continued to race keenly it established a small margin in advance of that runner and then in the Home Straight his mount finished the race off reasonably well considering the manner in which it raced throughout the early stages. Trainer confirmed the instructions issued and stated that as the horse does have a respiratory issue it performs best when not overly restrained - Race 030.
SMILING CHAMPION (K565) shortly after the start was bumped. Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when racing tight - Race 862.
TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) shortly after the start shifted out and away from a runner and then became unbalanced when it made contact with another runner - Race 030.
STAR FIGURE (K215) was withdrawn four days before raceday by order of the Stewards acting on vet advice (blood abnormality) . Has since passed an official vet exam - Race 005.
VET'S REPORT
HAYDAY (H321) 12/07/2026 Airway abnormality (dorsal displacement of the soft palate) noted after racing. .
TRACKWORK HIGHLIGHT
Hayday quickened up well for second in a recent Sha Tin dirt trial and is one to consider.
