Has continued to fire blanks four times across both tracks following a stable change. Comes off a no-excuse 11th over 1,400m. Needs to lift on his Valley form but is rated 13 points below a dirt 1,650m win from last term. --2

PHILIP WOO’S FORMLINE

Dragon Sunrise has caught the eye with hard-charging thirds once each from gates 11 and 12 over the Valley 1,650m from his past three starts and should be better positioned to strike this term from gate seven. Family Fortune is reunited with the only rider to boot him home successfully over this C&D in December after producing fifths once across each surface from his past four starts. He will hope to remain perfect under Joao Moreira. Courier Magic does return to his favourite Valley 1,650m, including a second off 38 and third off 40 in both starts this term, after finishing with excuses in two of three defeats on dirt. Gate 12 won't matter too much for a late-running type. Wah May Wai Wai remains a 25-maiden in Hong Kong but has stayed on for minor cheques in six of nine starts this term, including a front-running third and fourth from three C&D runs. He looks the one to catch despite a tricky gate.

TROUBLE IN RUNNING

POWER SUMMIT (K044) raced ungenerously in the early stages - Race 554.

ZETTA FORCE (J546) raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event. Rider reported that in the Home Straight when placed under pressure his mount failed to respond and when not in a competitive position he eased it down over the final 200M. After the race was examined by the vet who said an endoscopic exam showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea. Finished tailed out and performance was considered unacceptable. Has since performed satisfactorily in a barrier trial and passed an official vet exam - Race 275.

EXCEED THE WISH (J480) approaching the 900M raced keenly when positioned tight to the inside of a runner. Between the 400M and the 350M was held up for clear running - Race 496.

INNO CENTURY (K113) jumped only fairly - Race 334.

FAMILY FORTUNE (H447) hampered approaching the 1500M - Race 515.

DOUBLE BINGO (J309) began only fairly. Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event - Race 565.

MY FLYING ANGEL (J174) from a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages. Rider could offer no excuse for the horse's disappointing performance. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 554.

DRAGON SUNRISE (J269) hampered shortly after the start. Held up for clear running making the Home Turn. Prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards gave consideration if there were sufficient grounds for a protest/objection against the runner being declared dead heat first placegetter due to the horse being crowded over the concluding stages by that runner shifting in. When the Stewards were satisfied there were not sufficient grounds to do so and no protest/objection was lodged by connections, weighed-in was declared on the numbers semaphored by the Judge - Race 526.

WAH MAY WAI WAI (J193) jumped awkwardly. Approaching the 1000M made contact with a runner. Rider reported that his mount came under pressure from the 800M and failed to finish the race off thereafter. Rider was questioned in relation to his left leg extending away from his body when a runner endeavoured to improve between his mount and another runner approaching the 300M. Rider stated that as he was concerned the aforementioned runner would continue to shift in he braced himself as he was concerned there would be heavy contact between those two runners. He said that resulted in his left leg extending out to ensure he maintained his balance. After considering his explanation the Stewards found that rider had not intentionally extended his left leg in an attempt to make contact with that runner and accepted his explanation. Post-race vet inspection did not show any significant findings - Race 526.

PERFECTO MOMENTS (J003) over the concluding stages was crowded for room and could not be ridden out to the finish of the race - Race 526.

COURIER MAGIC (H290) raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event - Race 515.

LUCKY BLESSING (K073) rider stated that he had to make use of his mount in the early stages to go forward, particularly when caught wide in the early stages. He said as a result his mount was left without a finishing effort in the Home Straight. After the race was examined by the vet who said an endoscopic exam showed a substantial amount of mucus in the horse's trachea - Race 526.

VET'S REPORT

ZETTA FORCE (J546) 20/12/2025 Unacceptable performance and substantial blood in trachea noted on post-race scoping. (passed on 27/02/2026).

TRACKWORK HIGHLIGHT

Floof was ultra impressive under a hold down the straight despite runnning fourth in a Sha Tin trial.
