Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (142) - TIU YUE YUNG HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1800Meters
Horse No 1 TURIN MASCOT (H165) K C Leung At the 450 Metres made contact with RAGGA BOMB when endeavouring to improve between RAGGA BOMB and GLORIOUS ST PAUL'S.
Near the 250 Metres shifted to the outside of NOISY BOY to secure clear running, however, a short distance later, was then steadied when disappointed for clear running between NOISY BOY and PRECISION HOPE.
TURIN MASCOT was then obliged to shift to the outside of PRECISION HOPE approaching the 150 Metres to secure clear running.
Horse No 3 RAGGA BOMB (K162) R Kingscote Raced keenly in the early stages.
Horse No 4 NOISY BOY (J536) C L Chau C L Chau stated that he was instructed to endeavour to obtain a position with cover.
He said when caught wide in the early stages and when the race was being run outside of standard time he allowed NOISY BOY to stride forward to attempt to avoid racing wide and without cover.
He added when the pace of the event quickened he was obliged to remain racing wide and without cover for the remainder of the event.
Trainer C H Yip confirmed the instructions were to ride NOISY BOY with cover as the horse did not finish its race off when ridden forward to lead at its previous race start.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 YODA'S CHOICE (J146) H Y Yuen Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 FIREFOOT (J183) K Teetan K Teetan advised that the intention was to race in a more forward position, however, FIREFOOT did not muster sufficient pace despite being ridden along in the early stages.
He added that FIREFOOT was unsuited by settling back in the field and found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight from that position, particularly after being held up behind RAGGA BOMB for some distance after the 500 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of FIREFOOT was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.
Before being allowed to race again, FIREFOOT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 PRECISION HOPE (L047) A Badel Slow to begin.
Horse No 10 SUPREME MASTERMIND (K387) A Atzeni Shortly after the start shifted out and made contact with BULL ATTITUDE.
Near the 450 Metres was steadied when crowded between BULL ATTITUDE and FIREFOOT (K Teetan) which shifted out when awkwardly placed close to the heels of RAGGA BOMB which was commencing to give ground.
K Teetan was reprimanded.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 BULL ATTITUDE (K305) L Hewitson Shortly after the start was bumped by SUPREME MASTERMIND.
Passing the 1600 Metres, when racing keenly, was steadied to avoid STORM RUNNER.
Near the 700 Metres became awkwardly positioned close to PRECISION HOPE when endeavouring to obtain a position with cover behind that runner.
Near the 450 Metres was bumped and became unbalanced when SUPREME MASTERMIND was taken out slightly.
Lay out in the early stages of the Home Straight and near the 250 Metres L Hewitson was required to change his whip through to his left hand.
Horse No 12 GLORIOUS ST PAUL'S (K524) M F Poon Sent for sampling post-race.

Yoda's Choice assumed his usual front-running role and after straightening two lengths clear, he kept up a strong gallop for a fourth win and third over the dirt 1,800m from 37 starts. It was a great training feat following arthroscopic knee surgery. Glorious St Paul's stayed on well for second after a box seat run from the 1,200m. He relished a return to the surface of a trip fourth in May. Heavily punted Storm Runner stayed on nicely for third after taking off following a wide trip from midfield to track stablemate Yoda's Choice for the lead 1,000m out. It was a good effort at his first start on the surface. Young Bravo ran on nicely near the inside to snatch fourth after biding his time third last from gate 11. Like the latter, it was an encouraging effort. Bull Attitude was running on late down the outside to just miss a top four spot after making his run second last from gate eight. Turin Mascot was a stride further away in sixth after a rail run from better than midfield. The big weight took its toll at his first run down in Class Four. Favourite Firefoot tamely faded after making his run behind midfield. It was an out-of-character performance.
