Recap by phillip woo

Specked late Shannon Glow quickened nicely from fourth last from gate 12 and through the centre in the straight to mow down Chill Partners. The four-year-old newcomer had been doing some nice work late in each of his three trials. Chill Partners found one too good after assuming the lead near the 200m following a speed-tracking run from gate five. He's trending towards a win with placings in both starts this term. Lean General ran on nicely near the inside to finish a close third after settling midfield following a slow start and without a clear run on a couple of occasions in the straight run.

Horse No 1 TRUE BROTHERS (L381) P N Wong Near the 900 Metres was hampered when taken wider by GHORGAN.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have bled from both nostrils.

Before being allowed to race again, TRUE BROTHERS will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 2 CHILL PARTNERS (K484) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 POSITIVE SMILE (J467) M L Yeung From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 ISLAND HIGHFLYER (L332) C Y Ho Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 5 LEAN GENERAL (K546) R Kingscote LEAN GENERAL, which was leaning on the left side of the starting gate, jumping awkwardly and lost further ground when contacted by HEALTHY PONY which shifted in.

LEAN GENERAL continued to race greenly under pressure in the Home Straight and lay in.
