Recap by phillip woo

Punted late All Round Winner rallied nicely from midfield on the rails to take control 80m out to notch a third win and first on this surface from 23 starts. He did produce a good run at his only dirt 1,650m run in June. Well backed Nezha found one just too good after joining in strongly to lead 180m out following a five-back trip along the inside. It was his best effort from four dirt 1,650m runs in Class Three. Dragon Air Force finished a close third after copping a check 80m out following a patient ride third last from gate seven. It was a return to form wearing blinkers over his preferred dirt 1,650m.

Racing Incident Report

Race Nine : (76) - SHEK WAI KOK HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1650Meters

Horse No 1 DRAGON AIR FORCE (J279) M Chadwick K Teetan (THRIVING BROTHERS) was found guilty of a charge of careless riding [Rule 100(1)] in that near the 1500 Metres he allowed his mount to shift in when insufficiently clear of DRAGON AIR FORCE, resulting in DRAGON AIR FORCE having to be checked.

K Teetan was suspended from riding in races for one Hong Kong raceday to be conducted on Wednesday, 21 October 2026 at Happy Valley.

In assessing penalty, the Stewards determined the carelessness grade 2 and the consequences grade 2 and also considered his very good race riding record.

After passing the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running until near the 200 Metres.

Near the 150 Metres was steadied to avoid the heels of NEZHA when racing in restricted room between NEZHA and QUANTUM LEGEND.

Horse No 2 CORLEONE (J426) L Ferraris A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 THRIVING BROTHERS (J396) K Teetan K Teetan was found guilty of a careless riding charge for causing interference near the 1500 Metres (see DRAGON AIR FORCE).

K Teetan reported that his mount was not suited by the fast tempo of the race in the early and middle stages which was run inside of standard time.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

The performance of THRIVING BROTHERS was considered disappointing as compared to its previous race starts.

Before being allowed to race again, THRIVING BROTHERS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 5 NEZHA (K494) J Orman Noted to have blood in the mouth after the race.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 STORMI (K084) C L Chau Near the 150 Metres was steadied to avoid the heels of KEEFY (Apprentice H Y Yuen) which shifted out under pressure.

Apprentice Yuen was reprimanded for permitting her mount to shift out when not fully clear.

Horse No 7 KEEFY (G306) H Y Yuen When questioned regarding the tactics adopted today, particularly the middle stages of the race, Apprentice H Y Yuen explained that her instructions were to be positive in the early stages and had achieved a position in the lead and on the fence when negotiating the first turn near the 1500 Metres.

She added from that point she was endeavouring to steady her mount to hold the lead, however, at this point STORMI had improved to her outside and as a result KEEFY continued to over-race after being placed under pressure early and for this reason in the Back Straight she was unable to restrain KEEFY any slower.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, KEEFY will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 8 BLOSSOMY (L037) A Atzeni A Atzeni reported that whilst his mount was required to race wide in the early and middle stages the overall performance was disappointing.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 ALL ROUND WINNER (K382) H Bentley Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 12 QUANTUM LEGEND (L268) Z Purton A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, QUANTUM LEGEND will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 RELIABLE PROFIT (G462) M F Poon Withdrawn on 3.10.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (swollen right fore).

Before being allowed to race again, RELIABLE PROFIT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
