Well fancied Prestige Always sat better than midfield, improved into second 500m out and kept on gamely leading 200m out for a second straight win under Nichola Yuen despite a return to Class Three and the Valley. Fancied to jump favourite Daryl Flash zipped home late down the outside to finish a close second after making his run four from the rear. It was his best effort from 10 local runs after arriving off a mark of 78. Wukong Jewellery stayed on nicely through the centre for third after a handy run wide without cover. It was a good effort at his first start following a bleed in March. Flying Wrote stayed on for fourth after a box-seat run. It was another honest effort carrying a big weight over his favourite track and trip. Symbol Of Strength was doing his best work late for fifth after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was not a bad effort but he's just not good enough off his current mark. California Blitz grudgingly gave way after dictating the pace from gate 11. Akashvani was running on late without threatening after settling second last from gate 10.

Racing Incident Report

Race Seven : (43) - MOUNT BUTLER HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 FLYING WROTE (J290) C L Chau Approaching the 200 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when unable to improve between PRESTIGE ALWAYS and CALIFORNIA BLITZ which shifted out.

As a result FLYING WROTE then shifted to the outside of PRESTIGE ALWAYS to continue into clear running.

Horse No 2 SYMBOL OF STRENGTH (K352) B Avdulla Shifted in slightly near the 550 Metres, was bumped and became unbalanced.

Over the concluding stages raced tight to the inside of DARYL FLASH which shifted in and as a result could not be fully ridden out to the finish of the event.

Horse No 3 AKASHVANI (K234) Z Purton From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 4 YOUNG EMPEROR (K011) L Ferraris From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 5 PASS LINE (L384) M F Poon Jumped only fairly.

Near the 550 Metres became unbalanced when it bumped with SYMBOL OF STRENGTH which shifted in slightly.

Horse No 6 POWER KOEPP (E301) K C Leung Prior to declaring weighed-in the Stewards gave consideration as to whether the horse had been afforded a fair start.

After taking evidence from Jockey K C Leung, Trainer M Newnham and Starter Mr A Speechley the Stewards found that POWER KOEPP lowered its head just as the start was being effected, resulting in POWER KOEPP being slow to begin.

As the Stewards were satisfied that the Starter could not have reasonably anticipated this occurrence the horse was declared a runner.

A warning was placed on the barrier manners of POWER KOEPP.

Near the 550 Metres was steadied to avoid PASS LINE.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 ANODE (K367) E C W Wong Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

E C W Wong stated that from a wide barrier he was obliged to settle further back in the field than anticipated.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, ANODE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 11 PRESTIGE ALWAYS (J300) H Y Yuen Lay in over the concluding stages.

Sent for sampling post-race.
