Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (42) - ISLAND HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 JUMBO BLESSING (K529) C Y Ho Bumped shortly after the start.
Leaving the 600 Metres struck the heels of HAPPY UNITED (M Chadwick) when being checked to avoid HAPPY UNITED which shifted in and away from FLYING TING LOK when being corrected by Jockey Chadwick.
Whilst the Stewards accepted that Jockey Chadwick had endeavoured to prevent his mount from shifting in he was advised to exercise more care in similar circumstances.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 COPPER CORE (L214) K C Leung Jumped awkwardly and then shortly after the start was checked when crowded between CASA BUDDY and SUPERB KING which was taken out by SECRET INGREDIENT.
Approaching the 250 Metres was steadied when unable to continue to improve to the outside of SUPERB KING.
Horse No 3 BLUE ILLUSION (K468) J Orman Leaving the 100 Metres was eased when racing in restricted room between SUPERB KING which shifted in slightly and GEORGIAN SIGMA which shifted out.
Horse No 4 SUPERB KING (K479) C L Chau C L Chau stated that the instructions were to go forward.
He said his mount jumped only fairly and then was crowded by SECRET INGREDIENT which shifted out.
He said as a consequence SUPERB KING settled further back in the field than intended.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 GEORGIAN SIGMA (L007) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 DOUBLE ALPHA (L291) M F Poon Bumped shortly after the start.
Horse No 7 SECRET INGREDIENT (L290) H Bentley Shifted out at the start and made contact with SUPERB KING when being corrected by its rider.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 FLYING TING LOK (K228) H Y Yuen Crowded near the 750 Metres.
Raced very wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 9 HARMONY FIRE (E175) P N Wong Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped.
The Veterinary Surgeon reported that HARMONY FIRE was lame in its right front leg after the race.
Before being allowed to race again, HARMONY FIRE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 10 CASA BUDDY (L101) H T Mo A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 HAPPY UNITED (H208) M Chadwick Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by DOUBLE ALPHA which shifted in slightly.
Near the 750 Metres was steadied when crowded by FLYING TING LOK which was taken in by GEORGIAN SIGMA (A Atzeni) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
A Atzeni was reprimanded.
Was left racing wide and without cover from the 550 Metres.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be lame in its left front leg.
Before being allowed to race again, HAPPY UNITED will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Jumbo Blessing came with a bold move with one wider out to win going away in the late stages for three consecutive wins over the Valley 1,000m from 10 starts. He has the tools to hold his own up in Class Three. Sensationally-backed Georgian Sigma kept on nicely for second after slotting in the one-one position from gate 12. He's a winner waiting to happen. Firming favourite Superb King ran on late for third travelling towards the rear after a tardy start. He's run well to place in both starts this term. Mapogo just held on for fourth after leading from gate one. He has naturally improved on his past three starts following a switch to the Valley 1,000m. Double Alpha gradually faded after a speed-tracking run from gate 10. He was able to build on a sixth at his initial Valley 1,000m run 14 days ago. Blue Illusion just plodded following a one-off trip from midfield. Harmony Fire faltered after settling in the box seat from gate seven. He couldn't back up an opening fourth earlier this month.
