Recap by phillip woo

Firming favourite Le Zonda travelled four from the rear and timed things perfectly after taking closer order 600m out to make it three wins in a row. There’s clearly more to come from him. Sagacious Life did everything right but get the win after leading 80m out following a one-out, one-back run. It was a solid effort at his first start over the Valley 1,650m. Helene Feeling grudgingly gave way after spearing straight to the lead from gate eight. He’s always a chance over this course. Californiatotality kept on well for fourth after a box-seat run. He should come on for the outing and is better suited over 1,800m. Massive Sovereign ran on late through the centre for fifth after making his run one from the rear. It was a good effort on his Valley debut by the former Derby winner. Speed Dragon was making inroads late near the inside for sixth after biding his time three from the rear. It wasn’t a bad effort carrying top weight and he is more at home over 1,800m. Early favourite Max Que was a faltering last after a one-off trip from midfield. It was an out-of-character effort.
