Race Seven : (35) - REPULSE BAY HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 LOVE TOGETHER (L052) C Y Ho Crowded shortly after the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 CANDLELIGHT DINNER (J468) C L Chau Shortly after the start shifted in despite the efforts of its rider and became unbalanced when it made contact with ETERNAL FORTUNE.
Near the 700 Metres improved to the inside of ETERNAL FORTUNE and then raced tight to the inside of ETERNAL FORTUNE for some distance after the 600 Metres.
As a result CANDLELIGHT DINNER made contact with RED ELEGANCE.
C L Chau was advised to exercise more care and to ensure there is comfortable racing room to improve into.
C L Chau stated that from a wide barrier he was instructed to hold a position with cover.
He said CANDLELIGHT DINNER hung in throughout the event, particularly under pressure in the Home Straight.
Noted to have lost its right front plate after the race.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 DANCING CLASSICS (J060) E C W Wong E C W Wong was spoken to in respect to failing to correct his mount as it shifted in after the winning post which resulted in crowding to HORSEPOWER, BUNTA BABY and PARENTS' LOVE.
Jockey Wong was advised that he must stop riding his mounts when they shift ground whilst not clear.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 5 BUNTA BABY (J465) Z Purton Crowded shortly after the start.
Over the concluding stages PARENTS' LOVE and BUNTA BABY raced tight to the inside of HORSEPOWER (A Atzeni) which shifted in before being corrected by its rider.
A Atzeni was advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to straighten his mounts sooner than what he did on this occasion.
Horse No 6 ETERNAL FORTUNE (K010) R Kingscote Shortly after the start shifted in and away from CANDLELIGHT DINNER and became badly unbalanced when it made heavy contact with CASA OF HONOR.
Horse No 7 CASA OF HONOR (K310) M F Poon Shifted in shortly after the start, made contact with DRAGON FOUR SEAS and became unbalanced.
A short distance later CASA OF HONOR was crowded by ETERNAL FORTUNE which shifted in and away from CANDLELIGHT DINNER.
M F Poon reported that from a wide barrier he had to make too much use of the horse in the early stages to go forward.
He said as a result his mount did not finish the race off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 HONEST WITNESS (K283) K Teetan K Teetan reported that his mount was under pressure throughout the event and did not finish the race off in the Home Straight.

Horse No 10 PARENTS' LOVE (H405) P N Wong Raced tight over the concluding stages.
Horse No 11 RED ELEGANCE (H241) M Chadwick Near the 500 Metres shifted out after being bumped by CANDLELIGHT DINNER.

Horse No 12 DRAGON FOUR SEAS (J317) A Badel Shortly after the start HONEST WITNESS shifted out despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in LOVE TOGETHER and BUNTA BABY being taken out onto DRAGON FOUR SEAS which was then checked when crowded between BUNTA BABY and CASA OF HONOR which shifted in at the start and then raced tight to the inside of ETERNAL FORTUNE.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Drifting out sharply in betting, Dancing Classics settled prominent in the run and got up 60m out to record back-to-back wins following a move to blinkers. He should remain in the grade and can win another. Red Elegance ran on nicely for second travelling better than midfield from gate four. He was a well-rated runner on the back of three previous wins over the Valley 1,000m. Thumped to jump favourite, Love Together came from near last and widest out to finish a close third. It was a solid effort carrying top weight after a last start win over the straight 1,000m. Horsepower ran on well near the inside to just miss a placing after a rails run from behind midfield. He rarely produces a bad run over the Valley 1,000m. Early favourite Bunta Baby was doing his best work late for fifth after biding his time third last from gate seven. He should come on for the run. Speedy Parents’ Love just held his ground to hold down sixth prize money after deciding to sit handy in the run from gate one. Specked late Casa Of Honor was yielding ground over the last 100m after sitting near the speed from gate nine.
