Recap by phillip woo

Kempes sat in the box seat and after a rails run opened 200m out, he took the lead 120m out and was too smart for a second win from 16 local starts. He goes well fresh and did appreciate the drop into Class Four. Specked late Noble Superior kept on gamely for second after dictating the pace. It was a much-improved effort at his third career start. Favourite Spirited Steed kept on a non-threatening third after a one-out, one-back run. He's trending the right way. Apex Glory stayed on for fourth after getting held up early straight following a rail run from midfield. It was an improved effort wearing blinkers.
