Recap by phillip woo

Supported favourite Draco got the perfect tirp travelling one-off in midfield and took control 100m out for a first win in a fast time at his 23rd start. The win was overdue after several solid efforts last term. Punted late Fortune Kingo finished well for second after switching into the open with three wider out at the 300m following a rails run travelling five back It was a career best effort following a stable change. He Was Me stayed on well for third after a one-out, one-back run. He rarely produces a bad run over 1,400m. Colourful Winner had to settle for fourth after assuming the lead 250m out from Verbier following a speed chasing run. He tends to mix his form. Double Bingo charged home down the outside for fifth after making his run late from gate 10 under a 10lb claimer.

Racing Incident Report

Race Three : (21) - HONG TUNG HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters

Horse No 1 GRAND TURBO (L138) R Kingscote Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 2 GLORIOUS RYDER (K290) L Ferraris From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

The performance of GLORIOUS RYDER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, GLORIOUS RYDER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 DOUBLE BINGO (J309) H Y Yuen When questioned Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that from the outside barrier she was instructed to ride the horse in a conservative manner in the early stages and had expected to settle at the back of the field.

She said with the early and middle stages being run inside of standard time DOUBLE BINGO settled further back than what she had anticipated, particularly when it also raced ungenerously and lay out.

She said in the Home Straight she commenced to shift to the outside of SILVER UP but her mount was reluctant to do so and as a result she was placed at some disadvantage in riding DOUBLE BINGO out as she was required to make a greater effort to encourage her mount to improve to the outside of SILVER UP.

She added that after obtaining clear running near the 200 Metres DOUBLE BINGO ran on well.

Trainer P F Yiu confirmed the instructions issued, however, stated that the horse settled further back in the field than what he had intended.

Horse No 4 MADE FOR LIFE (L005) Z Purton Shortly after the start was bumped by WINNING NOW which shifted in.

Horse No 7 WINNING NOW (K532) P N Wong Shifted in shortly after the start and was bumped.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 10 FORTUNE KINGO (K457) C L Chau Approaching the 250 Metres was shifted to the outside of SPEEDY TRIDENT to obtain clear running and as a consequence made contact with PERFECT PEACH.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 11 PERFECT PEACH (E488) L Hewitson Bumped approaching the 250 Metres.

Horse No 12 CHILL MASTER (J319) C Y Ho For a short distance leaving the 400 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.

Horse No 13 DRACO (J115) K C Leung Trainer W K Mo confirmed that from an inside barrier he had instructed rider K C Leung to endeavour to take advantage of the good barrier and hold a more forward position.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 14 SPEEDY TRIDENT (K230) K Teetan A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.

Before being allowed to race again, SPEEDY TRIDENT will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
