Racing Incident Report
Race One : (19) - HONG TUNG HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1400Meters
Horse No 1 GOR GOR (K104) L Hewitson Over the final 100 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when racing in restricted room between SEA DIAMOND and RATTAN GALAXY.
Horse No 2 LIGHTNING ACE (L136) M Chadwick Approaching the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid LEGENDARY IMPACT (H T Mo) which shifted in when not clear.
H T Mo was reprimanded.
M Chadwick stated the instructions were to hold a midfield position.
He said when LIGHTNING ACE commenced well and was caught wide in the early stages he was obliged to continue forward to avoid covering additional ground.
Horse No 3 SEA DIAMOND (L072) B Avdulla On jumping was badly crowded.
Horse No 5 THE CONCENTRATION (H465) H Y Yuen When giving ground near the 200 Metres was eased when crowded between PERIDOT and YOUNG FIGHTER.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that in the Home Straight her mount failed to respond and was disappointing.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 MULTISUPERSTAR (L163) A Badel Near the 900 Metres was steadied to avoid LIGHTNING ACE.
Over the concluding stages lay out towards SUPERB GUY and as a result could not be fully ridden out.
A Badel stated that his mount jumped well today and settled more forward than he had anticipated.
Horse No 7 PERIDOT (K148) J Orman From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Near the 250 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of THE CONCENTRATION to continue into clear running.
Horse No 9 THE ALL ROUNDER (K402) C Y Ho From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Between the 350 Metres and the 250 Metres was held up for clear running.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 RATTAN GALAXY (K143) L Ferraris Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 SUPERB GUY (K323) Z Purton On jumping YOUNG FIGHTER shifted out despite the efforts of its rider, resulting in EXCEED THE WISH and SEA DIAMOND being crowded out onto SUPERB GUY.
As a consequence SUPERB GUY was checked and lost ground when badly crowded between SUPREME WINNER and SEA DIAMOND.
Between the 250 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 13 MANYTHANKS FOREVER (J065) H Bentley H Bentley could not offer any explanation for the horse's performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 14 EXCEED THE WISH (J480) A Atzeni On jumping became unbalanced when crowded onto SEA DIAMOND.
Near the 950 Metres was steadied when momentarily crowded between YOUNG FIGHTER and MANYTHANKS FOREVER which shifted in when racing tight to the inside of THE CONCENTRATION.
A Atzeni could not offer any explanation for the horse's performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Drifting favourite Rattan Galaxy travelled in the box seat before moving to the lead 250m out and keeping up a strong gallop for a maiden win at his 13th start. He was able to back up a near win at his final start last term. The All Rounder rushed home late with one wider out to just grab second after switching off heels for a clear run 250m out travelling last from gate 14. He's trending towards a win. Punted late Superb Guy just out-finished Peridot through the centre for third after making his run second last from gate six. He can produce an odd positive run now and then over the 1,400m trip.
