Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (16) - KOWLOON TONG HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 BLUE ILLUSION (K468) H Y Yuen Between the 300 Metres and the 150 Metres was held up for clear running.
Horse No 2 BEAUTY SHOW (L260) Z Purton Shortly after the start shifted out and away from HARMONY FIRE and made contact with DOUBLE ALPHA.
When questioned Z Purton stated that his mount was pressured in the lead in the early stages.
He said on the Home Turn BEAUTY SHOW came under pressure and shifted ground and as a result in the Home Straight he did not fully test the horse to the finish of the event.
Trainer F C Lor agreed with the assessment of Jockey Purton that the horse did not appreciate being pressured in the lead but could offer no other explanation for the horse's performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of BEAUTY SHOW, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, BEAUTY SHOW will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 3 SUPERB KING (K479) C L Chau Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 DOUBLE ALPHA (L291) M F Poon Shortly after the start was bumped by BEAUTY SHOW and then raced in restricted room between BEAUTY SHOW and LUCKY TWENTY which was taken in slightly by GEORGIAN SIGMA.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 6 JUMBO BLESSING (K529) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 GIANT SPIRIT (L169) H T Mo Near the 800 Metres was bumped by HARMONY FIRE.
Near the 350 Metres was eased to avoid ZETA HEDGE which shifted to the outside of BEAUTY SHOW.
Horse No 8 HARMONY FIRE (E175) P N Wong Near the 800 Metres was eased to avoid DOUBLE ALPHA when DOUBLE ALPHA shifted in and away from GEORGIAN SIGMA which shifted in.
Horse No 9 DAY DAY VICTORY (J423) A Badel From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 10 LUCKY TWENTY (K392) J Orman Shortly after the start made contact with DOUBLE ALPHA.
Horse No 11 TURBO JEFFERIES (L328) H Bentley Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 12 ZETA HEDGE (K295) K Teetan Near the 350 Metres was eased and shifted to the outside of BEAUTY SHOW when BEAUTY SHOW commenced to give ground.

Jumbo Blessing travelled one-off behind midfield after a tardy start before reeling in Superb King in the concluding stages for a second straight win from eight starts. He should remain in the grade and can win another. Whacked to jump joint-favourite Superb King kept on well for second leading 200m out following a wide without cover trip near the front from gate 12. He keeps promising without winning. Punted late Georgian Sigma stuck around nicely for third after prompting the pace one off from gate 10. He's building towards a win with placings in five of seven starts. Nine-year-old Harmony Fire stayed on well for fourth after a one-off trip from midfield. It was another honest effort over his favourite trip. Day Day Victory ran on late through the centre to grab fifth after making his run third last from gate 11. It was a pleasing effort at his first outing for his new trainer. Double Alpha stayed on next best after a wide and with cover trip travelling behind midfield from gate seven. Favourite Beauty Show found nothing in the run to the wire after getting hounded for the lead from gate six.
