Recap by phillip woo

Early favourite Baky Sakura had a box-seat run and just got up to win a thriller for a fourth win and two placings from seven starts. He has the tools to head higher. Punted late Flying Fortress made it close on the wire after a one-off trip from midfield. The step up to 1,400m nearly worked the oracle after ending last season with four solid runs over 1,200m. Beauty Cresent nearly caused an upset after leading 250m out following a speed tracking run outside Aeroinvincible from gate eight. It was a return to form after finishing last at his final four starts last term. Aeroinvincible gradually faded late after dictating the pace from gate two. He should come on for the outing. Post-time favourite Circuit Champion was doing his best work late down the outside for fifth.
