Horse No 1 SPICY STANDARD (J520) A Atzeni Raced keenly in the middle stages.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 HAROLD WIN (J280) H Bowman Bumped on jumping.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 MATZDEN (L133) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 KA YING RESILIENCE (J439) K Teetan Bumped shortly after the start.
Near the 400 Metres was inconvenienced when taken wider by GROUPER.
Near the 100 Metres raced in restricted room between GROUPER and GLACIATED which shifted in and away from SPICY STANDARD.
K Teetan reported that his mount was not comfortable on the "Good to Firm" track conditions.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to have sustained an abrasion to the right hind leg.
Horse No 5 RISING FROM ASHES (G209) J Orman Near the 250 Metres became unbalanced when bumped by PRECISION MIND which shifted in.
Horse No 6 BLAZING METEOR (L426) M F Poon Bumped heavily on jumping.
M F Poon was reprimanded for using the whip on a horse that was out of contention.
Horse No 7 GROUPER (L233) E C W Wong Jumped only fairly and then was bumped heavily shortly after the start.
Horse No 8 GOOD LUCK BABE (K016) Y L Chung Near the 400 Metres was steadied to avoid KA YING RESILIENCE when KA YING RESILIENCE was taken out by GROUPER (E C W Wong) which shifted out.
E C W Wong was advised in similar circumstances he would be expected to make a greater effort to straighten his mounts.
Horse No 9 PRECISION MIND (L296) M L Yeung Bumped shortly after the start.
Lay out in the early stages of the Home Straight.
Bumped near the 250 Metres.
Horse No 11 LUCKY GIBS (L157) P N Wong Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 12 VICTORY CHAMPION (K240) K C Leung A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" Horse No 13 MAJESTIC DELIGHT (K189) A Badel From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 14 GLACIATED (K272) H Bentley Shifted out at the start and made contact with HAROLD WIN.

Well-backed Spicy Standard was ridden patiently five back from gate 13 and ran on nicely to take control 30m out for a second win from 10 starts. The return to Class Four worked the oracle. Matzden did everything right but get the win after hitting the front 80m out following a rails run from midfield. He's building towards a win. Good Luck Babe just held on for third after a prominent run one off with cover from gate eight. He was able to build on a fourth at his final start last season over 1,400m. Specked late Glaciated nearly got up for third after a one-off trip from midfield. He was a well-rated runner on the back of a trip success in December. Favourite Harold Win peaked on his run 50m out after poking his head in front 200m out along the inside.
