Racing Incident Report
Race Two : (2) - DUDDELL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 LIGHTNESS OF MUSIC (K436) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 RAPID PHANTOM (L204) H Y Yuen When questioned Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that when placed under pressure in the Home Straight her mount commenced to hang out and as a result near the 200 Metres she was obliged to stop riding and straighten.
She said as RAPID PHANTOM cleared COMET RADIANCE near the 100 Metres she was able to ride her mount along which resulted in RAPID PHANTOM shifting out towards the outside running rail.
She said near the 20 Metres when RAPID PHANTOM changed stride she was concerned that it was going to make contact with the running rail which required her to stop riding and again straighten her mount and as a consequence she was unable to ride RAPID PHANTOM out to the finish of the event.
After considering the evidence the Stewards accepted her explanation for not riding her mount out to the finish.
Horse No 3 ONESHOT (L105) K Teetan Was inspected by the Veterinary Officer behind the starting gates and passed suitable to race.
K Teetan reported that near the 800 Metres when he commenced to ride his mount along to maintain its position he became concerned with the horse's action and as a consequence he eased it out of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of ONESHOT, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, ONESHOT will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
Horse No 4 RUN RUN SUNRISE (K552) K C Leung On jumping was hampered when crowded between THUNDER PRINCE and MABUBU which shifted out.
Horse No 6 MABUBU (K586) J Orman Jumped awkwardly.
J Orman stated that he was satisfied with the horse's finishing effort in the Home Straight and, in his opinion, would derive a fitness benefit from today's event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 SILVER SPURS (J043) E C W Wong When under pressure in the Home Straight hung out and proved difficult to ride out.
Horse No 8 RUBY THRIVE (L098) P N Wong Apprentice P N Wong reported that her mount hung out when under pressure in the Home Straight and over the concluding stages was awkwardly placed close to the heels of LIGHTNESS OF MUSIC.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 9 THUNDER PRINCE (K017) B Avdulla Over the final 200 Metres was badly held up for clear running and could not be tested to the finish.
Horse No 10 COMET RADIANCE (L067) Y L Chung Y L Chung was reprimanded for weighing out with the incorrect cap.
Horse No 11 LET'S HAVE FUN (L118) H Bentley Jumped only fairly.

Firming favourite Lightness Of Music sat near the speed on the far side from gate two before hitting the lead 300m out and finding plenty for a second win in Class Four over the straight 1,000m from six starts. He relished a downgrade after ending last season with back-to-back fourths. Ruby Thrive ran on nicely for second settling just worse than midfield on the far side from gate one. He's building towards a win with placings in back-to-back runs. Brown lamped Let's Have Fun was doing his best work late to snatch third in the concluding stages after making his run out back following a tardy start.
