Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (855) - JOY AND FUN HANDICAP - Class 3 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 CROSSBORDERPEGASUS (K008) H Bowman Jumped only fairly.
Approaching the winning post H Bowman dropped his right rein.
H Bowman confirmed that his instructions were to not use the whip on the horse as it did not respond well when the whip was applied at its last start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 AURORA PATCH (K097) C Y Ho Raced keenly when racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 3 LADY'S CHOICE (H155) H Y Yuen Approaching the winning post shifted out and made contact with PACKING KING.
Horse No 4 GOLD PATCH (L099) Z Purton Z Purton stated that his mount finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight but could offer no excuse for the performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 5 PI LEGEND (L117) K Teetan Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 CHATEAUNEUF (J219) B Avdulla From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Approaching the 150 Metres was steadied and shifted to the outside of CAUSEWAY KING to continue into clear running.
B Avdulla expressed concern with the horse's action in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race found that horse to be a "roarer" which had previously been reported.
Before being allowed to race again, CHATEAUNEUF will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 8 PACKING KING (K570) A Atzeni Bumped approaching the winning post.
Horse No 9 LOVE ESPRESSO (L394) M L Yeung Shifted in on jumping and was bumped.
Near the 950 Metres was steadied to avoid PI LEGEND which lay in and away from WATCH LEGEND.
The performance of LOVE ESPRESSO, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, LOVE ESPRESSO will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 10 GREAT LEGEND (L409) P N Wong Jumped only fairly and then was crowded by LOVE ESPRESSO which shifted in.
The performance of GREAT LEGEND, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, GREAT LEGEND will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 11 CAUSEWAY KING (L196) M F Poon Bumped on jumping.
M F Poon could offer no excuse for the horse's disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 12 TEN LOVES (L371) R Kingscote Near the 900 Metres commenced to race keenly and was checked to avoid WATCH LEGEND when racing tight between FLYING FORTRESS and LOVE ESPRESSO.
Horse No 13 WATCH LEGEND (L313) H T Mo Near the 900 Metres was steadied when being crossed by GOLD PATCH.
H T Mo reported that making the turns in the middle stages his mount lay out.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No PAPAYA BROSE (L264) J Moreira Withdrawn on 11.7.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (fever) and replaced by Standby Declared Starter PACKING KING.
Before being allowed to race again, PAPAYA BROSE will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

PI Legend settled one off in midfield before hitting the lead 60m out and fending off Crossborderpegasus for a third win and first on turf from his past five starts. It was a huge effort carrying 12lb more following a dirt success last month following a stable change. Post-time favourite Crossborderpegasus was eating up the ground late to finish a close second after making his run last from gate 12. He has been racing well without winning from six starts this term. Packing King found a couple too good after moving to the lead 150m out following a speed-tracking run. He's given a good sight for thirds in back-toback runs in this grade following a brace of Class Four wins.
