Racing Incident Report
Race Six : (852) - VICTORY MARVEL HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 1 OLDTOWN (K105) Z Purton Bumped on jumping.
Horse No 2 PRESTIGE ALWAYS (J300) H Y Yuen Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 NOBLE SUPERIOR (L392) M L Yeung Held up for clear running between the 300 Metres and the 200 Metres behind PRIME WINISTER.
Approaching the 200 Metres was shifted to the inside of PRIME WINISTER and then raced tight to the inside of PRIME WINISTER for a short distance thereafter.
Horse No 5 PRIME WINISTER (L218) H Bowman H Bowman stated that he was issued with no specific instructions.
He said when his mount jumped well it improved to the lead where it raced too keenly.
He said throughout the early and middle stages PRIME WINISTER raced ungenerously and lay out and was unable to finish off in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race which included an endoscopic examination showed a substantial amount of blood in the horse's trachea.
Before being allowed to race again, PRIME WINISTER will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 6 SILVER SPURS (J043) J Moreira J Moreira stated that his mount was obliged to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event when unable to cross runners to its inside.
He said as a result SILVER SPURS gave ground when under pressure in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 7 RYUI KOKOROE (L120) R Kingscote R Kingscote was fined the sum of $3,000 for initially weighing out without a girth and surcingle which required his saddle being returned from the saddling area in order for him to be re-weighed.
Bumped on jumping.
Had difficulty obtaining clear running between the 400 Metres and the 300 Metres.
Horse No 8 SOLID CAR (K058) J Orman Near the 300 Metres was hampered when taken wider by OLDTOWN which shifted out and away from SPIRITED STEED.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 SPIRITED STEED (L278) E Brown Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 11 MONTA FRUTTA (H455) Y L Chung Slow to begin.
Making the Home Turn was held up between KING'S ARROW and MAJESTIC LIFE and near the 450 Metres was steadied to avoid MAJESTIC LIFE.
Horse No 13 MAJESTIC LIFE (L085) A Badel Shifted out at the start and shortly after was steadied to avoid SPIRITED STEED which shifted in.

Punted late Prestige Always travelled third and after hitting the front 250m out, he just scrambled in. The move to a 10lb claimer worked the oracle down in Class Four. Spirted Steed ran on strongly through the centre to make it close on the wire following a wide with cover trip from behind midfield. It was a much-improved effort at his third start. Whacked to jump favourite Solid Car ran on late near the outside for third after turning the final bend two from the rear. He is consistent but struggles to win. Victory Champion ran on late down the outside for fourth after making his run at the rear from gate 13. He was suited by the quick pace. Rising Elite made ground late near the inside for fifth.
