Racing Incident Report
Race Four : (841) - EIGHT TO GLORY, Presented by Lenovo - Class 4 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 FORZA TORO (K355) J Moreira Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 2 STURDY RUBY (H207) C Y Ho Bumped shortly after the start.
C Y Ho reported that after settling back in the field his mount was disadvantaged by the early stages being run outside of standard time and as a result found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 3 SUPERB KID (H298) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
Approaching the 1200 Metres was momentarily crowded by STAR ELEGANCE which was taken in by PRECISION HOPE (A Badel) which shifted in before being corrected by Jockey Badel.
A Badel was reprimanded.
Near the 500 Metres was momentarily crowded by STAR ELEGANCE which hung in.
Horse No 4 THE AZURE (J227) Z Purton From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Z Purton stated that his mount did not travel well during the event and failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight.
Horse No 5 LUCKY YEAR (K443) A Atzeni Over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when racing tight between PRECISION HOPE and PODIUM which shifted out under pressure.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 PRECISION HOPE (L047) A Badel Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 7 PODIUM (H173) M F Poon Shifted out at the start and was bumped.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 8 STAR ELEGANCE (K536) L Hewitson On jumping became unbalanced when bumped by PODIUM which shifted out and away from LUCKY YEAR.
STAR ELEGANCE then shifted out and made contact with STURDY RUBY.
L Hewitson reported that his mount hung in throughout the event and in the Home Straight proved difficult to ride out.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Early favourite Forza Toro dictated the pace from gate one and was much too smart for a first win at his 11th start. He was able to build on an earlier third at his only other start over the Valley 1,650m. Podium stayed on well for second after a box-seat run. He appreciated a return to the Valley 1,650m of two earlier wins after a fourth last start over 1,200m. Precision Hope just got up late for third after a prominent run wide without cover from the widest draw. He's a winner waiting to happen. Post-time favourite Lucky Year lost third late after chasing the winner from gate two. The switch to the Valley failed to work the oracle after three consecutive placings over 1,600m. It was a long way back to Sturdy Ruby who only beat three runners after making his run one from the rear. The Azure only got by a pair of tired rivals after biding his time at the rear from gate seven. Superb Kid continued to struggle after making his run behind midfield on the fence. Star Elegance found nothing after a one-off trip from midfield.
