Race Three : (840) - VOLLEY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 GRAND NOVA (J323) B Avdulla Leaving the 300 Metres was bumped by JUMBO BLESSING which shifted in slightly.
Leaving the 250 Metres was crowded between JUMBO BLESSING and HARMONY FIRE (Apprentice P N Wong) which shifted out.
Apprentice Wong was severely reprimanded.
In this incident GRAND NOVA shifted out and made contact with JUMBO BLESSING.
Horse No 2 HEY BROS (L150) K C Leung Approaching the 900 Metres shifted out and made contact with LUCKY TWENTY.
Horse No 3 GIANT SPIRIT (L169) H T Mo Noted to have lost its left front plate after the race.
Horse No 4 BEAUTY SHOW (L260) Z Purton Near the 300 Metres lay in, resulting in its rider Z Purton having to correct his mount and change his whip through to his right hand.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 6 SMART HIGH (L349) M Chadwick Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 7 LUCKY TWENTY (K392) J Orman Approaching the 900 Metres raced tight between GRAND NOVA and HEY BROS, both of which shifted ground.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 9 JACKSON HABIT (L036) A Badel Jumped only fairly.
From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Post-time favourite Jumbo Blessing ran on strongly down the outside from third last following a slow start to overhaul early favourite Beauty Show in the concluding stages for a maiden win at his fifth start. He had shown potential. Beauty Show again found one too good after dictating the pace from gate nine. He's a winner waiting to happen with seconds in three of five starts. Old-timer Harmony Fire stayed on well for third after a one-off trip from better than midfield. He's an honest horse over the Valley 1,000m. Grand Nova ran on steadily for fourth after getting hampered with one wider out near the 100m following a one-off trip travelling midfield from gate six. It was a good run carrying top weight following a win. Mapogo gradually faded after getting posted three wide chasing the speed from gate 10. It was a good run in defeat. Jackson Habit got going late for sixth after making his run at the rear from gate 12. It was an improved effort for his new trainer at his third local start. Hey Bros came up one paced after a rails run settling midfield.
