Racing Incident Report
Race One : (838) - KICK OFF HANDICAP - Class 5 - 1000Meters
Horse No 1 COUNTRY DANCER (H436) A Atzeni Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 HAPPY UNITED (H208) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 HAPPY ACTION (K399) M L Yeung Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped heavily by BRILLIANT FIRE which was taken out.
Making the first turn leaving the 600 Metres became unbalanced when racing to the inside of SPICY SPANGLE.
Horse No 8 THOUSAND CUPS (J482) Y L Chung Shortly after the start shifted out and made contact with BRILLIANT FIRE.
Near the 550 Metres was eased to avoid ALWAYS MY FOLKS (H Bowman) which shifted in when not clear.
H Bowman was reprimanded.
Horse No 9 FLYING CHRISTIE (K483) K C Leung Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 10 SPICY SPANGLE (J087) C Y Ho The Stewards considered an application from Jockey C Y Ho that his mount be declared a non-runner on the grounds that it had been denied a fair start.
After taking evidence from Jockey Ho, Trainer W K Mo and Starter Mr A Speechley, the Stewards found that SPICY SPANGLE lunged forward and then reared as the start was being effected which resulted in SPICY SPANGLE losing ground.
As the Stewards were satisfied that such occurrence occurred simultaneously to the start being effected, the horse was declared a runner.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 CALL TO COMMAND (J243) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
Shortly after the start was then steadied when crowded between SOLAR RIVER and HAPPY ACTION which was taken out.
Horse No 12 BRILLIANT FIRE (J441) K Teetan Shortly after the start was hampered when crowded by THOUSAND CUPS which shifted out.
K Teetan stated that his mount obtained a favourable position behind the lead in the early stages but failed to respond to his riding in the Home Straight and could offer no explanation for the disappointing performance.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 CONSPIRATOR (K090) L Hewitson Withdrawn on 7.7.26 by order of the Stewards acting on veterinary advice (left fore foot injury).
Before being allowed to race again, CONSPIRATOR will be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Firming favourite Happy United dictated the pace from gate one and was too good for a fourth win from 37 starts. He was a well-rated runner down in Class Five for the first time. Country Dancer ran on nicely near the inside for second after a rails run from midfield. He's holding his form well following a win and third at his past two starts over the Sha Tin 1,200m. Solar River stayed on well for third after a one-off trip from better than midfield. It was a better effort on his return to the Valley at his first start over 1,000m. Glory Cloud made headway along the inside for fourth after making his run three from the rear from gate 11. It was a positive effort at his first run over the Valley 1,000m. Always My Folks gradually faded over the last 100m after serving it up to the leader 550m out from gate nine. Spicy Spangle ran on late with one wider out for sixth after settling third last following a very awkward start from gate seven. Thousand Cups didn't find much travelling third in the run from gate two. Brilliant Fire was disappointing after getting all favours travelling fourth on the fence from gate three.
