Race Five : (729) - THE SAUTERNES'S CUP (HANDICAP) - Class 3 - 1650Meters
Horse No 1 SOLID WIN (J225) H Bowman H Bowman stated that his mount jumped well and raced in a more forward position than intended.
Horse No 2 ARMOR GOLDEN EAGLE (K566) Z Purton Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 3 GLITTERING LEGEND (L109) J Moreira J Moreira stated that his mount began only fairly and as a result was obliged to settle further back in the field than intended to avoid covering additional ground.
He added in the Home Straight GLITTERING LEGEND finished the race off only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 4 A AMERIC TE SPECSO (H037) B Avdulla Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 5 EMBRACES (J276) C L Chau Lay in in the Home Straight.
Horse No 6 HIGHLAND RAHY (J298) L Ferraris Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 7 I CAN (H381) A Atzeni From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.
Horse No 9 ALL ROUND WINNER (K382) H Bentley H Bentley stated that his mount raced a little keenly throughout the event and as a result finished the race off in a one-paced manner in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 10 GHORGAN (K199) K Teetan Throughout the early stages raced keenly and refused to settle.
For some distance approaching the 1300 Metres and again near the 1100 Metres got its head up when being restrained away from FANTASTIC FUN.
Approaching the 300 Metres was steadied when held up behind EMBRACES.

Even money favourite Armor Golden Eagle travelled one off in third before reeling in Highland Rahy 80m out for a third win from four consecutive runs over the Valley 1,650m. He has the tools to win another over this track and trip. Highland Rahy gave a cheeky sight in front after going forward to lead 1,250m out from gate 10. It was a return to form over his favourite Valley 1,650m. Embraces got up in the last bound for third after a one-off trip from midfield. He was able to back up a third last start over 1,400m. Solid Win lost third late after chasing the leader on the fence from gate seven. It was another honest run but he's likely on or near his mark with only fourths in two of his past three starts after a win. A Americ Te Specso got going late near the inside for fifth after making his run third last. Punted late Ghorgan made a mild bid for sixth after a rails run from behind midfield. He'll be looking forward to a drop into Class Four. All Round Winner failed to make an impression after making his run three from the rear. It was an out-of-character run after a win and third at his past two runs in this grade.
