Firming favourite Bright Day ran on from midfield on the rails to take control 60m out near the inside for a second win from 12 starts this term. He had been knocking on the door in three previous outings, including a second over yesterday's Valley 1,200m. Loving Vibes gave a cheeky sight for second dictating the pace from gate 12. The change in tactics nearly worked the oracle after producing a rallying third from two prior starts. Kwai Chung Talents ran on nicely with two wider out for third after a wide trip with cover from behind midfield. It was a vastly improved effort wearing a hood at his fifth start. Graceful Heart tracked the pace one off for fourth from gate nine. It was an improved effort after showing next to nothing at his opening two Sha Tin runs. The Perfect Match was doing his best work late near the outside for fifth after making his run second last from gate eight. He requires a stronger pace. Golden Friendship was given every chance following a box-seat run but came up one paced over the last 100m. He's a borderline Class Four horse. Country Pride faded after a wide run from gate 10.

Racing Incident Report

Race Four : (728) - CIRON HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 FIND MY LOVE (H110) H Bowman H Bowman stated that after settling back in the field his mount found it difficult to make up ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 SMART FIGHTER (H278) E Brown E Brown stated that the instructions were to go forward but after jumping awkwardly and losing ground at the start his mount settled further back than intended.

He added that in the circumstances he was not too disappointed with the horse's performance.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 COUNTRY PRIDE (L325) K Teetan Bumped on jumping.

Making the first turn near the 1000 Metres commenced to race keenly.

Near the 900 Metres shifted out when positioned close to the heels of GRACEFUL HEART.

Approaching the 150 Metres K Teetan dropped his whip.

K Teetan stated that his mount was disadvantaged by racing wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race revealed that the horse was displaying an irregular heart rhythm.

Before being allowed to race again, COUNTRY PRIDE will be required to perform satisfactorily in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

Horse No 5 BRIGHT DAY (J530) K C Leung Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 6 JUSTIFYING (K027) J Moreira Bumped on jumping.

J Moreira stated that his intention was to hold a more forward position but despite riding his mount along it did not show sufficient pace to do so.

He added that JUSTIFYING failed to run on in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 THE PERFECT MATCH (J253) C L Chau Bumped shortly after the start.

Horse No 8 GRACEFUL HEART (L207) L Hewitson Lay in under pressure in the Home Straight and over the concluding stages could not be fully ridden out when positioned close to LOVING VIBES.

L Hewitson stated that he was given the option of going forward if his mount commenced well.

He said when GRACEFUL HEART jumped well he elected to go forward and race outside the lead.

Horse No 10 LIGHTNING ACE (L136) M Chadwick Held up on the Home Turn behind NATURAL HIGH.

For a short distance near the 250 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running when being shifted to the outside of COUNTRY PRIDE.

Horse No 11 LOVING VIBES (J359) A Atzeni A Atzeni stated that the instructions were to settle where comfortable.

He said when caught wide in the early stages outside the lead he elected to allow LOVING VIBES to stride forward to avoid covering additional ground.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 12 GOLDEN FRIENDSHIP (K106) H T Mo Shortly after the start made contact with THE PERFECT MATCH when racing tight to the outside of KWAI CHUNG TALENTS.
