Big Return had a one-off trip in midfield and quickened nicely to get up 50m out to make it three on the bounce following a step up to 1,600m from eight starts following a stable change. He should hold his own up in grade. Punted late Lucky Balerion ran on nicely for second after a prominent run. It was his best effort following a step up to 1,600m from four starts. Heavily backed Flying Knight found a couple too good after leading 350m out following a speed-tracking run. It was another good run carrying a few pounds more following a win. Jolly Brilliant made good ground late near the outside to finish a distant fourth after making his run fourth last from gate 14. It was another good run.

Horse No 2 BIG RETURN (K192) A Badel Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 3 ENTHRALLED (K252) C Williams Had difficulty obtaining clear running making the Home Turn.

C Williams stated that from his wide barrier he settled back in the field.

He said with the early and middle stages being run outside of standard time the horse was unable to make up any appreciable ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 4 FLYING KNIGHT (K370) K Teetan Raced keenly in the early stages.

Horse No 5 BRIGHT INHERITANCE (J215) L Ferraris Leaving the 800 Metres got its head up when being steadied away from CLEANSWEEPER.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 7 JOLLY BRILLIANT (K498) H Bowman From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 8 AUTOMATED (K177) C Y Ho Jumped awkwardly and lost ground.

Steadied near the 50 Metres.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 9 BEST WORLD (L329) Z Purton On jumping was crowded between FLYING KNIGHT and FAMILY KNIGHT which shifted in.

Horse No 10 FAMILY KNIGHT (K490) E Brown For a short distance after the 300 Metres had difficulty obtaining clear running.

Near the 50 Metres was steadied when crowded between AUTOMATED which was taken in slightly by JOLLY BRILLIANT and BEST WORLD (Z Purton) which shifted out before being corrected by its rider.

Z Purton was severely reprimanded.

E Brown stated that his mount lay in throughout the event and finished the race off only fairly in the Home Straight.

He added the horse may be suited by the removal of the ear plugs for its next race start.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 11 CLEANSWEEPER (K555) K C Leung Jumped only fairly.

Horse No 12 HEALTHY PONY (L046) M Chadwick From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 13 LUCKY BALERION (L125) M F Poon Shortly after the start was crowded between LUCKY TWIN STARS and I EXCELLE which shifted in despite the efforts of its rider.

Horse No 14 I EXCELLE (K502) A Atzeni Shifted in shortly after the start and was corrected by its rider.

Trainer P C Ng confirmed the instructions were to obtain cover as the horse had not been finishing its races off at its most recent starts when racing inside or outside the lead.
