Smashed in betting Conrad Patch was wide with cover behind midfield and ran on nicely near the outside to get up 20m out for a second win from seven starts. He was given a gem of a ride by Craig Williams but did get the pace to suit. Sight Dreamer ran on well for second after a one-off trip from midfield. He had run with merit in two of five past course and distance runs. Same To You found a couple too smart after briefly leading 60m out following a handy run on the fence. He did win off an identical mark in September. Prestige Hall dashed well for fourth from rear from gate 14. Warriors Dream stayed on through the centre for fifth after a one-off trip from midfield.

Race Three : (716) - STANDARD CHARTERED GREATER BAY AREA HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters

Horse No 1 CONRAD PATCH (L106) C Williams Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 2 SIGHT DREAMER (J542) A Atzeni Approaching the 1100 Metres shifted out to relieve the crowding to GROUPER and as a result was then steadied away from FLOWING RICHES when that runner shifted in slightly.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 4 GROUPER (L233) J McDonald After travelling a short distance was eased when momentarily crowded by SIGHT DREAMER which shifted in before being corrected.

Bumped approaching the 300 Metres.

J McDonald stated that his mount jumped only fairly and then he was able to improve forward to hold an on-pace position as intended.

He said in the Home Straight GROUPER did not respond to his riding.

Trainer C S Shum stated that GROUPER may have been advantaged by racing on a "Good to Yielding" track at its first race start but in addition it would derive a further fitness benefit from today's performance.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 MEGA CAPTAIN (L287) H Bowman Jumped awkwardly and shifted in at the start.

Horse No 7 WARRIORS DREAM (K255) K Teetan Jumped awkwardly, resulting in its rider K Teetan becoming unbalanced.

In the middle stages raced keenly and near the 800 Metres was steadied to avoid SIGHT DREAMER.

Near the 100 Metres was eased and shifted to the inside of SAME TO YOU to continue into clear running.

Horse No 8 GOLDENTRONICMIGHTY (K002) B Avdulla On jumping made contact with the right side of its starting gate.

Horse No 9 PRESTIGE HALL (K040) E Brown From the outside barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 10 QUARTZ LEGEND (K548) J Moreira From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

Horse No 12 RIDING HIGH (J403) H Y Yuen When questioned Apprentice H Y Yuen stated that her instructions were to go forward.

She said in accordance with those instructions she rode her mount along in the early stages, however, when MEGA CAPTAIN and FLOWING RICHES maintained their position to her inside RIDING HIGH was obliged to race wide and without cover to the outside of those runners.

She said approaching the first turn when unable to cross those runners she elected to take hold of her mount with a view to obtaining cover behind FLOWING RICHES.

She said as she did so making the turn leaving the 900 Metres RIDING HIGH commenced to lay out and raced keenly and as a consequence she was unable to restrain her mount sufficiently to obtain a position with cover.

She added as a consequence RIDING HIGH was obliged to race wide and without cover for the remainder of the middle stages before giving ground in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 13 MAGIC SUPER (K330) H T Mo The performance of MAGIC SUPER, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.

Before being allowed to race again, MAGIC SUPER will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 14 SAME TO YOU (H057) R Kingscote Approaching the 300 Metres made contact with GROUPER when being shifted to the outside of RIDING HIGH to obtain clear running.
