Recap by phillip woo

The Red Hare was one-out, one-back in the run and after surging to the lead 200m out, he kept on gamely for a deserving second 1,400m win after placing in four of his past six starts. He took full advantage of gate three. Without Compare ran on nicely for second after a rails run from midfield. It was another good run with a step back to 1,400m after a Valley 1,650m win. Fit For Beauty dashed late through the centre for third after a one-off trip from behind midfield. It was another honest performance. Favourite Baby Sakura had to settle for fourth after recovering from a tardy start to travel box seat. He was carrying 6lb more following a win. California Waves made headway late for fifth after making his run five back and three wide from gate 12.
