Recap by phillip woo

Firming to start a hot favourite, Decision Link had a prominent run on the fence before hitting the front 150m out and just beating Northern Beast for a second win from 12 starts. The step up to 1,650m was not a problem. Northern Beast found one too good after looping the field 700m out to lead three wide rounding the final bend following a one-off trip from behind midfield. He's always a chance over this course. Well backed Flying Fortune stayed on for third after a one-off trip from better than midfield. It was his best effort from six local runs following a switch to the Valley. Colourful Gan came from near last to spice up the quartet. It was clearly his best performance from eight local starts. Fortune Star made good ground late for fifth after making his run at the rear from gate nine. It was another honest effort. Leaping Star kept grinding away for sixth after making his run just worse than midfield on the fence. Our Lucky Glory only plodded when asked for more following a one-off trip travelling third behind the early leaders Blazing Beam and Another Zonda.
