Racing Incident Report
Race Nine : (702) - LUNG FU SHAN HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1400Meters
Horse No 2 BUCEPHALAS (K096) M Chadwick Bumped at the start.
M Chadwick stated that when he had concern with his mount's action in the Home Straight he eased it down from the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of BUCEPHALAS, which finished tailed out, was considered unacceptable.
Before being allowed to race again, BUCEPHALAS will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination which must include additional diagnostic assessments.
Horse No 4 STRATHPEFFER (H095) E Brown Shortly after the start was steadied to avoid BUCEPHALAS (M Chadwick) which, after making contact with VOYAGE BOSS, then shifted in and away from that runner.
M Chadwick was reprimanded and advised he would be expected to make an effort to straighten his mounts sooner than what he did on this occasion.
Horse No 5 MEANINGFUL DRAGON (H453) L Ferraris Near the 350 Metres L Ferraris dropped his whip.

Horse No 6 HIGH RISE VICTORY (L128) C Y Ho In the early stages raced keenly.
Near the 900 Metres was checked to avoid MEANINGFUL DRAGON (L Ferraris) which shifted in when not clear.
L Ferraris was reprimanded.
Horse No 9 PRESTIGE SUPERIOR (K383) H T Mo Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 10 VOYAGE BOSS (K321) A Atzeni Bumped at the start.
A Atzeni stated that his mount was disadvantaged by having to race wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 11 ACE (K307) C L Chau C L Chau stated that his mount did not travel well throughout the event and whilst it finished the race off in a satisfactory manner it was not comfortable on the "Yielding" track conditions.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 STAR FIGURE (K215) B Avdulla Jumped awkwardly.
B Avdulla stated that his mount failed to travel throughout the event which he attributed to the "Yielding" track conditions.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Meaningful Dragon had a speed-tracking run outside Proud Box from gate 14 and after poking his head in front in the concluding stages, he just held off the fast-finishing Quick Contribution for a second from eight starts. It was a good training feat second up after a defeat when lame in January. Specked late Quick Contribution came from last and widest out to make it close on the wire. It was a fine effort off a 130-day break. Early favourite Proud Box was swamped late after dictating the pace from gate two. It was another good run carrying 12lb more following a win. Strathpeffer ran on nicely through the centre for fourth after finding the fence in midfield from gate 10. He rarely produces a bad run over 1,400m. Silver Up was a one-paced fifth after a prominent run on the fence. It was an okay effort for his new trainer off a 168-day break.
