Packing Angel settled one off worse than midfield and responded nicely near the outside to get up 30m out for a fourth win from 14 starts. He's now one-from-one over this track and trip after catching the eye with a closing third last start over 1,600m. Soleil Fighter found one too good after clearing to lead 1,350m out from gate six. He produced his usual honest effort over the Valley 1,650m. Whacked to jump equal favourite, Beauty Alliance found a couple too good after a speed-tracking run from gate 11. It was a good performance up in grade following a win. Silvery Breeze was doing his best work late for fourth after making his run second last from gate eight. It was an encouraging effort up in grade carrying a lighter weight. Helene Feeling lost fourth late after a box-seat run. The big weight took its toll. Early favourite Lo Rider came up one paced after a rails run from midfield. He has been out of form and might require a drop into Class Three. Awesome Fluke had his chance but wasn't good enough after a one-out, one-back. Speed Dragon ran on without threatening from the rear. He requires 1,800m.

Horse No 1 SPEED DRAGON (H380) C Y Ho Jumped only fairly.

From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

When commencing to finish the race off well was disappointed for clear running between SILVERY BREEZE and AWESOME FLUKE and as a result could not be ridden out over the final 50 Metres.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 3 MOMENTS IN TIME (H474) C L Chau Bumped shortly after the start.

Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.

Horse No 4 SOLEIL FIGHTER (J127) H Bowman Sent for sampling post-race.

Horse No 5 AWESOME FLUKE (J050) J Orman Approaching the winning post shifted in slightly, resulting in its rider J Orman having to correct his mount which resulted in him not riding it out to the finish.

Horse No 6 INFINITE RESOLVE (K369) A Badel From a wide barrier was shifted across behind runners in the early stages.

A Badel could offer no excuse for the horse's failure to run on in the Home Straight.

A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.

Horse No 9 PACKING ANGEL (J454) H Bentley Jumped only fairly.

After the running of Race 2, the track classification was officially changed from "Good"to "Good to Firm" This change in the opinion of the Stewards should be recorded as being retrospective.

As a consequence of this, the official results will show Races 1 and 2 being run on a track rated "Good to Firm"
