Race Seven : (691) - CHANTILLY HANDICAP - Class 4 - 1200Meters
Horse No 2 CORNERSTONE (K519) C L Chau Jumped only fairly.
Horse No 3 AMAZING VICTORY (G123) J Orman Bumped at the start.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 4 GOLDEN EMPIRE (E490) L Ferraris Near the 300 Metres was hampered when taken wider by JUMBO BLESSING which lay out.
Raced wide and without cover for the majority of the event.
Horse No 5 SMART FIGHTER (H278) A Badel A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 6 VIGOR EYE (L068) Z Purton Near the 600 Metres made contact with JUMBO BLESSING when that runner shifted out whilst racing keenly.
Z Purton stated that he rode his mount along in the early stages to attempt to take up a forward position.
He said VIGOR EYE did not show as much pace as it did at its previous race start which resulted in it settling further back than intended.
He said throughout the middle stages VIGOR EYE, which is still relatively inexperienced, did not appreciate racing amongst other horses before giving ground in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
The performance of VIGOR EYE, a last start winner, was considered disappointing.
Before being allowed to race again, VIGOR EYE will be required to perform to the satisfaction of the Stewards in a barrier trial and be subjected to an official veterinary examination.
Horse No 7 LUCKY MCQUEEN (K064) M F Poon M F Poon stated that after settling towards the back of the field his mount found it difficult to make up ground from that position in the Home Straight.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Horse No 8 TACTICAL COMMAND (H197) A Atzeni Shortly after the start shifted out and made contact with LEADING AGILITY.
As a result TACTICAL COMMAND then shifted in and made contact with JOLLY COMPANION.
Horse No 9 JUMBO BLESSING (K529) J Moreira Throughout the early and middle stages raced keenly and refused to settle.
After shifting to the rail near the 700 Metres then raced keenly for some distance thereafter.
Near the 600 Metres JUMBO BLESSING shifted out when positioned close to AMAZING VICTORY and as a result made contact with VIGOR EYE.
J Moreira stated that when placed under pressure in the Home Straight his mount finished the race off only fairly.
A veterinary inspection immediately following the race did not show any significant findings.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 10 JOLLY COMPANION (H454) C Y Ho After travelling a short distance was bumped by TACTICAL COMMAND.
Horse No 11 LEADING AGILITY (K553) L Hewitson Shortly after the start became unbalanced when bumped by TACTICAL COMMAND which shifted out slightly.
Sent for sampling post-race.
Horse No 12 WINNING NOW (K532) K Teetan On jumping shifted in and made contact with AMAZING VICTORY.

Leading Agility improved one position to sit second outside the leader Winning Now 500m out and took control 200m out for a maiden win following a gear change at his sixth start. Veteran Amazing Victory stayed on well for second after a prominent run on the fence from gate one. It was a better effort at his third start this season. Young Arrow ran on nicely with one wider out for third after a patient ride third last from gate 12. He's caught the eye in back-to-back runs following a downgrade. Winning Now grudgingly gave way after rushing forward to lead near the 900m from gate two. It was another encouraging effort after a near wire-to-wire win last start. Tactical Command produced a good move late along the inside to snatch fifth after a patient ride second last from gate four. He's only placed once from 10 starts this term. Jolly Companion made good ground late near the inside to make it close for fifth after a rails run from behind midfield. It was another honest run. Favourite Jumbo Blessing only plodded after a rails run from midfield. The step up to 1,200m failed to produce a desired result.
